Besides some pictures from my portfolio, a "must have photos" checklist and release forms / contract that the client needs to sign, what should I bring to a meeting with my potential client?

A price list... :)Sounds like you have it well covered otherwise, but a client briefing sheet may be useful... tips for the big day, that sort of thing.

Bring a great attitude and lots of questions about what the clients would like from you. You are providing a service that is very important on their very important day. If the clients are spending a lot of money on decorations or the cake or cloting or jewlery, let them know that you will be more that delighted to take photos of all the items that they picked out. Also ask ho many guest are from out of state...pictures of them will be very important. Let the clients know how flexible you can be and how you want to make this as memorable as possible. Cheers,

In addition to the price list, I like to bring my camera and take some on the spot candid shots of the happy couple.. And these are freebies whether they sign or not!

A pen and paper. Write things down. When the client mentions their wedding date, the venue, names... just make notes of all kinds of details. This does two things:1. First and foremost is shows you CARE about them and want to get things RIGHT.2. The notes can be life savers if later you have a "brain fade" and forget some little detail that you really should know... such as her fiance's name! Of course if they sign a contract, you should have lots of basic info, but again, it just makes a good impression of sincerity and that they are important to you if you make the effort to write things down.Oh... also dress NICELY. No t-shirt and blue jeans. Look like a professional and you will command the respect and price of one.steve
