| I have looked at The Brides Essential Wedding Planner - Deluxe Edition by Amy Nebens and think it is pretty thorough, but I would love a book that has everything - checklists, suggestions, pictures and in a 3 ring binder.The Brides Essential Wedding Planner has all of the checklists, questions to ask vendors, some suggestions, but lacks some of the more in depth things like invitation wording and the more intricate details. And I don't want to just find everything online and print it out. I'd spend a fortune on ink. I'm looking for a planner. Thanks! |

| I feel like buying wedding related books is pointless. They are not worth the money. Anything and everything you need can be found online. Websites like TheKnot.com and Brides.com are great and free.If you have to buy something "wedding related", at least go with a magazine. A magazine is maybe $3-$5, which is a lot better then spending $20+ on a book. |

| My mom bought me the Martha Stewart one, & it does have some great ideas & information, but the thing I use the most are the checklists, charts, & such. The actual binder is not very practical because it isn't very sturdy & the top flap slides back & forth. So....I ended up making my own planner with just a regular 3-ring binder, some dividers, blank paper, & clear pockets to put pictures/magazine tear-outs/etc in. Then I trasferred all the useful lists & pictures from the M. Stewart planner over. It's so much better, because I set it up the way I like it & the way that works best for me. If you choose to make your own planner, you can find all the helpful checklists I was referring to online. | I don't know what wedding planner might be the best. I am using Easy Wedding Planning Plus and it's been great for me. It has lots of help with budgeting and that was important to me. It's in binder form and has a few pockets in it, but it's not the greatest for keeping up with other materials you gather. I've remedied that by buying an accordian file to go along with it and I keep any materials I gather in one of the labeled sections of the accordian file. The planner has lots of timelines and checklists. Suggestions are good, and there are some pictures, but not tons. The only other hardcopy resource I've used is Bridal Bargains. It has tons of great tips on how to save money that don't include the obvious things that people tell you that you already know (yes, of course a reception is cheaper if you don't serve food!). The planner, the cost saving book, and the accordian file have been enough for me. |

| I know you are asking about a book but I would recommend a web based wedding planning site. The one I recommend to my clients is www.theknot.com You can always print pages from the web and put them in a 3 ring binder. Here is why I recommend web based instead of a book. Technically they are both the same. 1: Being web based, you can access the site anywhere. 2: Do not have to worry about lossing the "book."3: Community of support from other brides.4: Has the lastest tips and Idea.5: Forward dates, photos, and notices easier.6: Keep track of guests faster via email.7: Customizable.8: Very easy to edit.9: Offers additional services real time.10: it is FREE!One is soft copy the other is hard. Both serve the purpose of planning and organizing your wedding. Now be careful when using online planning. Stick one site. Dont have multiple sites! You will end up being disorganize. |
