no. originally i was, but the more i think of it and the more answers i see here about favors i have decided against it! instead of favors we will make a donation to the school hot lunch program. also we are doing a high tea in the afternoon and then an evening dinner reception at a local hotel.

Not to be a party pooper but I just read something on this. A majority of guests would rather NOT have favors from a wedding. They don't want something that is personalized with someone else's wedding date sitting around....it has no sentimental value to them and just collects dust, it ends up thrown out anyways. I wouldn't spend the money on them and instead put the money towards something else.I wish I had saved the link to the article because I know I am going to get all thumbs down because I am raining on a bride's parade. But I am just telling you what I have read.

Yes, we are planning to buy party favors. We haven't decided yet on whether we will purchase online or at a store. We are having approx. 120 guests and plan to spend around $5/ea due to budget. We are thinking of buying truffles from Sam's Club or Costco & maybe something else. Everyone loves truffles (at least in my family and friends). There are lots of reasonable ideas online. Good luck and Congratulations!!

yes I have bought favors on-line and in the store and I think I may have spent a total of $300.00 for all of my favors and I am also making some of them. somethings are just to hard to make and easier to buy.

we aren't doing favors but we are thinking about doing a candy buffet. Instead of a bunch of stuff people won't keep why not let them have something they will enjoy right then and there...its about the same amount of money

I agree that if you want to do wedding favors then do something that people will get use of. What we did was : THE SMALL BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNES! And then for the bridal party we did the bigger bottles. The maid of honor and best man got a crystal ICE BUCKET TO GO WITH THE CHAMPAGNE!Or a nice bottle of wine! Chocolate is a good idea too. It's just a THANK YOU for coming to your wedding and for the wedding gift. I would buy at the store that way you are seeing what you are getting! There are also favor stores that deal with this type of thing and have nice ideas. A picture frame is a nice favor that they can put your picture in it! Good luck!

Not really- I have rented a photo booth for 5 hours and figured that would replace the traditional favors. I thought it would be fun for our guests to get their picture taken silly or not. They get one strip with a magnet and the other strip will go into a book they can sign. I paid $1395 for the photobooth and have a guestlist of about 350.For the yes part but not really- I am making candied pecans and putting them in tiny gift bags for each place setting. I really don't consider this a favor though, just a nice little treat for after dinner or to take home. I have calculated the cost for this yet but pecans are a pretty expensive nut. I still have to do the figuring on this.

We went back and forth about what kind of favors we wanted. Finally we've decided to do it simple - a dozen little chocolates in an organza bag. It's going to cost under $1/person and with the money left over we're going to have a chocolate fountain and a big dessert table.

Yes.I bought them at a craft store. Since my wedding is on Halloween I took advantage of an after halloween sale and got mine for about $0.67 each. I still have to add candy, wrap in tulle, and attach ribbon and thank you note, but I don't expect them to cost me in total more than $2 each.I have to buy 175 of them.
