We're getting married on August 2nd. I've already tapped out a lot of our wedding funds and I need a VERY CHEAP idea for wedding favors (preferrably personalized). We want something around $.50 to $1 each. Help!PS. We are getting married on a boat in the early evening so it will be very hot and anything that will melt will not work.

I skipped the favors...and no one noticed. I have never received a favor that I liked, so why put the money into it? As long as there is good food and good drink, everyone should be happy.Best wishes.

Very inexpensive? If on a budget, skip the favors.Favors are not necessary. Most people don't remember them anyway.I would say skip the favors, and put that money toward another wedding item.

I would skip the favors. I always see them left behind at the end of the evening. They are absolutely not needed. If you feel you must, how about a couple of heart shaped baked sugar cookies?

I would do fans... then get yourself some business cards that you print yourself, print them up saying thank you for sharing our day... punch a hole in the corner then attach with a ribbon in the color of your wedding. It will serve 2 purposes, one as a favor and two to help keep your guests cool.http://www.orientaltrading.com/application?namespace=browse&origin=searchMain.jsp&event=link.itemDetails&demandPrefix=12&sku=34/1124&mode=Searching&erec=11&No=16&D=fans&Ntt=fans&Ntk=all&Dx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&Ntx=mode%252bmatchallpartial&N=0&sd=Refreshing+Fans

Just skip them. Honestly, a $.50 trinket that at least half of your guests will throw away is not worth stressing out over.

Hi. You are getting married on a boat? How nice. Totally different! Skip the favors.....no one notices. Something personalized is what I tell people NOT to do. Really....no one wants something with someone else's initials and wedding date on it. Your unique venue is enough. Just keep it at that!

OK, I have some ideas for you, though I have to admit that a couple of them are a little cliche. But if you don't care, then I don't care.Compilation CDs- Create an iTunes playlist of 12-15 songs either featured in or inspired by your wedding. A few love songs, maybe even a "joke" song or two, like "Another One Bites the Dust," LOL. Then burn one CD for each guest. Total cost, including the blank CDs, CD cases, and the CD label creation kit to make fancy labels for them- about 50 cents per CD.Flower seed packets- not only are they eco-friendly, but they are also CHEAP!!! LOL. Buy some easy-to-plant flower seed packets at Home Depot, maybe some of the same blooms you had in your bouquet to tie in the theme, and then print out little labels that say your names and wedding date and a little saying like :"I say love, it is a flower, and you its only seed." (That's a line from The Rose, an incredibly sappy old Bette Midler song, if you didn't recognize it.) Total cost- if you're lucky enough to have printable labels at your workplace, they'll probably let you print some there for free (just ask first!) The seed packets will be about 25 cents per person.Wedding bubbles- can't go wrong with wedding bubbles!!! They come in packs of like 25 for about $3.99 a pack, so that works out to about 15 cents per bottle of bubbles. Tie some ribbon in your wedding colors around the top of each bottle, and attach a little handwritten tag that says your names and wedding date on the ribbon. Total cost, including ribbon and tags, about 18 cents a person.I hope these suggestions help. I personally plan on using each one for my own wedding (September 5, 2009.) My big bunner is that it's still too early to buy any seeds and bubbles for my wedding, since did you know they go bad after a year or so? It's true. Anyway, have a lovely wedding. It sounds really nice!

If you are that strapped for cash then I say just omit them completely. No one will care or probably even notice.

If you really want to do favors, what about personalized pens or pencils? Those are easy to produce and if you decide on something simple like bic pens, they're really cheap. I think I remember seeing them for like $0.19 each, but I've been wrong before.Good luck and Congrats!

My husband and I printed some of our favorite scripture verses from the Bible on magnets for our guests to take home.Even if you're not religious, you could print a favorite quote or saying. Office Depot/Office Max/Staples sell magnetic sheets that you can just feed through your ink jet printer.I think we paid $20 for a pack of 5 sheets of paper and got around 60 magnets made. You could also print photos on them. But, favors are completely unnecessary. I can only think of 1 or 2 weddings of the last dozen I've attended that had them.

I wouldnt bother with favors since most people dont even take them home anyways and I know I dont want something personalized by the bride and groom sitting around my home. I would be happier knowing the money went towards food, drinks and music for a fun night then some $0.25 pack of seeds I would probably never use.
