I am sending out invitations to a wedding and on the reply card, I would like to put the same address for the mailing address and the return address - that way, if it doesn't get delivered properly, it will get sent to me anyway. Will this work alright?

I am thinking that would be over kill because if they can't deliver it with your address and a stamp then most likely it is not getting to you no matter what you have in the corner.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Address the envelope to whoever it's supposed to go to, and use your own address as the return address. If the Post Office can't deliver the invite to the addressee, then it will get returned to you marked "Return to Sender."

Yes that works. That's what I did for my wedding. No worries, its not overkill. One warning, not a lot of people know how to use reply cards so you might want to number the cards in the back so that you know who you sent it to - since there will be no return address from them. 1. On the reply card envelope just put your address no return address. "if it doesn't get delivered properly, it will get sent to me anyways"doesn't make sense. IF the address is correct it will get delivered, having the same exact address twice won't make a difference. IF the address is wrong and doesn't get to you having the wrong address twice won't help

The idea of the return address is for the people who are sending it to write their address so they know if it has not been delivered! As the other answerer said, putting your oqn address twice will not help the situation - if one address does not work then neither will the same address on the other side! Leave it blank for your guests to be able to write their own addresses on.

nope it's illegal. the post office won't deliver it if the return address is the same. because they are afraid that people would take advantage. for example you could not enough postage or even put no postage on it at all and then it should be 'returned to sender' but the 'sender' address is the same as the address of who it is going to, so they will not deliver it when they see that. they check for it.

You'd be surprised how many people don't put their name on the response card. Without their return address on the envelope, it will be very hard to figure out who these folks are that simply write "2" on the card without filling in their name. I doubt you gain anything by having your same address on the envelope twice, and you lose a lot by not allowing the invitee to put their own address on it.
