My son is getting married in June a long way away from our home and many of our friends cannot atttend because of the distance. We would like to have a reception for him and his bride when they are able to come back home. How do I word the invitation?

'Our wedding reception After Party'or something like that , that is catchy and if your guests are all good friends, im sure it will catch on and also create some interest and queries before the event, so all should go well. '

i wouldn't include it in the wedding invitation. send out a separate invitation to the party closer to time.

You can send out the invitation as a "Just married in (wherever). Please join us in celebration on ........."soemthign like that. Its jsut an invitiation to the reception so its doenst have to really explain much more. you cna always do a photo of the wedding so people understand that part is done.

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe invite you to join them for a reception honoring the marriage of their daughter Alice Doe Smith to Anthony Smith, which took place on (date) in (place). This will be held on (date) upon the couples return from their honeymoon in (location).(List location info)If you would like to accept gifts, I would include a registry card as well...or if not, you can add something such as "Your presence at this joyous occassion is gift enough" which is a tactful way of saying no gifts. Lastly, a small photo of their wedding is a nice accompaniment to the invite...if that is too pricey you can even print them from your own computer. :O)Congratulations!

Firstly I give congratulation for your Son marriage.First of all you should see some online samples of wedding reception invitations and get a idea about the size of reception invitations. Then you can type your required information in word document. This will give you better view to understand that how much text you can insert in reception invitation or what should be size of text. Then you just need to buy reception invitations of your selected size and give printing order to your local card printer or you can place order to online websites for this. You should add reception invitations sleep in wedding invitations so that you will not get bother for sending again to your guests. And if you want to invite more guests in reception then you can send them only reception invitations after wedding.RegardsGary

since it is so long in time apart, I wouldn't send an invitation to anyone you don't expect to actually BE THERE. I would send an ANNOUNCEMENT of the wedding AFTER. Then send an invitation to the reception OR after the wedding send an announcement that includes invitation to recp.Like Mr and Mrs Son Namewere married in "far away"on June 1 2008.To celebrate their unionwe are having a reception in their Honoron August 15 2008 at 7pm

There are many ways to combine an wedding annoucement and reception invitation. It depends on how formal you want your annoucement. Since you are issuing the annoucement and hosting the reception a basic template for the wording is:GROOM PARENTShave the honour of announcingthe marriage ofBRIDEtotheir sonGROOMon DAYYEARLOCATIONCITY, STATEPlease join us at a weddingreceptionDATETIMELOCATIONCITY, STATEUsing the above template you can personalize it such asBecause you have shared in their livesby your friendship and loveGROOM PARENTSare proud to annoucethe marriage ofBRIDEtotheir sonGROOMon DAYYEARLOCATIONCITY, STATEPlease join us for a marriage celebrationDATETIMELOCATIONCITY, STATEHere is a good place for sample verses; they also sale a variety of Carlson Craft invitations:www.lastingimpressionsoh.cceasy.comFollow the verses link at top or you can also select an invitation and look at the verses options. They're different then whats on the verses link. You can mix and match quotes and verses to make something that is pleasing to you and that will match the mood and tone of the reception.

Hi. There are examples of wording on the net, but if it was me, I wouldn't call it a "wedding reception." I would do something like this:(If you are hosting and inviting):Please join us in celebrating the marriage ofPamela (maiden name) and John Smithwho were married onJune 14, 2008, in Tempe, ArizonaThis celebration will be held onSaturday, July 19, 2008 at six o'clock in the eveningLakeview Country Club111 Lakeview LaneSarasota, Florida
