I understand that 8 is a good number. August 8th 2008 is going to be a popular date for weddings this year!

You need to pay someone to pick out the good date, you can find someone to do it in China Town. Don't take the advantage of free services, it brings bad luck. It doesn't matter how much you pay even $0.01. They usually charge between $20-50.

The second answerer is right about the number 8. It's considered lucky. My brother married a girl from Hong Kong, and they have the same feelings about the number 8. They got married here on 18th August, and are having a reception in Hong Kong on the 18th November. Obviously 2008 is going to be ideal for the '8', so try to have it this year some time.

We found our date from an online "tong sing" which is like the Chinese Calendar that list all the good dates for things like marriage, planting...etc. It also tells you which date is good or bad for certain Chinese Zodiac. We had to change our wedding date because our first two choices were not good luck for either the Year of the Money or the Year of the Rooster. If you just want to know which dates are good for weddings here's Sally So's website has all the auspicious wedding dates for 2008. Here's the linkhttp://www.sallyso.com/auspicious-wedding-dates-2008/
