My bump is quite big,my midwife has said i look more like 30 weeks and so i need regular checks.I have swollen feet and ankles which i manage by drinking lots of water and resting my feet up.I get heart burn and indigestion too,so try & eat snacks or small meals and fruit.I don't drink any alcohol,as i've tried to stay as healthy as possible. My youngest brother is getting married in 2 weeks. For a start i've found finding an outfit difficult.I can't wear a skirt or dress because of my ankles and feet.So i've decided to wear white or cream trousers, but can i find any suitable maternity trousers anywhere? No! They all seem to be baggy linen casual trousers.I had no idea how big i would be at this stage, and the top i have bought makes my belly look very prominent. The wedding is in the busy city centre.Afterwards there's a slap up meal, with loads of Champayne. He says the meal will last about 2 hours.I can't eat a big meal or drink hardly. How will i manage the whole day with party later?

Wearing whatever is comfortable to you, yet decent looking. As for the food, why can't you eat only half of your plate? No one says you HAVE to finish everything. If it's chicken dish, cut a small piece of chicken and eat that. Eat the veggies on the plate too. If you don't finish, it's OK.As for the drinking, well who said you HAD to drink. No one is going to expect a 6 month pregnant women to drink. If you feel you'll be out of place, simple mingle with those you are drinking less or not at all. I don't see the problem here. I've never been pregnant, but I have friends who have been. I understand it's difficult, but I don't think anyone is going to expect you to be 100% active in your condition.Find a nice seat at the wedding, get your husband to bring you non-alcoholic drinks for the bar. Enjoy some nice conversation and mingle with family. If you feel tired, leave a little bit early. My friend just had her baby shower. She was about 28/29, maybe 30 weeks (I can't remember), during her shower. She had a great time. She was walking around, greeting people, getting food. She found a seat near the bathroom, so it was a short walk for her. She was tired afterwards, but in good spirits. She's really big too. Just go and try to have a good time. Your brother only gets married once.

how fancy will the wedding be? if it is not too fancy, you could get away with linen pants and a nice shirt. are your feet and ankles so swolen that you can't wear a dress or skirt? what about a long skirt? good luck finding something to wear.

Well since this is your brother he should know your condition. Explain to him that while you really want to be there for him on his special day that due to your pregnancy you can only manage the ceremony - which is the most important part of the day - and your thoughts will be with him and his bride at the reception. Don't worry about how your belly looks - you are pregnant - everyone knows a belly gets big when your pregnant - as for the trousers - you can always go with black - black looks dressy and is suitable for a daytime wedding. and if you want to wear a dress - go for it - not many people will be looking at your feet or ankles - they should be looking at the bride.

Find something comfortable for you to wear, that's the most important thing. You dont have to be extremely fancy with it. For your meal, ask if they can do like a half portion for you and then eat only waht you want, you don't have to eat it all. also, you don't have to stay the entire night. Stay long enough for toasts and cutting of the cake and then you are free to leave. Your brother and his new wife will be happy that you made it and spent their special day with them. Congrats on your pregnancy and your brother's marriage.

can you get regular pants and fasten them under your belly? And if your shirt doesn't cover, take it back and get one that will. The trend right now anyway is a short dress with pants underneath. pregnant bellies are soo cute to most people anyway! And it is an easy fix to trying to find nice pants or not cover your ankles. As far as the food, if it's a buffet get a couple of plates of food... and spend the entire reception just picking off the plates instead of eating one big meal at once. Ask your brother if he will have sparking cider for kids or for people who don't drink champagne. If he's smart, he will. It's only fair to kids, the elderly, pregnant women, and people who don't drink!Good luck!

Ok first of all realize you aren't the first pregnant woman to attend a wedding, so it can be done. Second, you can't wear white or cream trousers, that's disrespectful to the bride and a horrible way to start off with your brother's new wife. They sell maternity clothes in every major department store plus several different maternity shops. A simple pair of black pants with a beautiful jewel toned top should be easy to find. Also there is nothing that says you have to stuff yourself at the party and you should be able to find an extra chair to prop your feet on. What difference does it make if your belly is prominent? Your pregnant, it's supposed to look like that. Know one expects you to drink alcohol. I think you are making way too much out of this. It's just a wedding and pregnancy is not a handicap. You'll be fine.
