The pastors daughter in our church is 5 months pregnant. Her wedding shower and Baby shower is being combined.Do I need to give her a gift for both her and the baby? The pastor daughters and I are not friends. But we attend an 80 member church and out of politeness most of the women attend the showers hosted by the church. The bride is 20 and a sophomore in college and the groom works construction. After the wedding they are moving in with the Grooms parents to live.

i personally wouldn't. i would just get her a gift card to some place like the bay or linens and things. that way she can get either wedding or baby shower stuff with the card.i think it is kind of tacky that they are combining the two showers!edit: i just read your other question about the pastor being a 'hypocrite'..now i'm wondering if you are even friends with his daugher.. if not why are you going to her shower?? are they just mooching for gifts??

Yes I would think so because if she were having them separatly you would bring a gift to each. Just think of it this way, you're spending the same amount of money as you would if it were two different showers, but you only have to drive to one party and spend one afternoon getting it all done!

I'd do a gift bag that has inexpensive but nice things that include pacifiers and other baby necessities as well as like hot pads or towels and stuff for a household more typical for a bridal shower.

Well if you are doing it for politness then yes. you need to get a wedding shower gift and a baby shower gift. And also while being polite it shouldn't matter that the girl is 20 and getting married while pregnant. Its none of you business.
