We are having hamburgers/hot dogs and the usual fixings (baked beans/potato salad). I am looking for any way to decorate my home creatively, yet inexpensively, while continuing with the cookout theme both inside and outside my house.

it seems like a summer-y event so i think that you can't go wrong with bright colors and bright candles all over the place, and a fire pit should warm things up

It seems like a pretty lowkey wedding. Get yellow and red (colors of mustard and ketchup) streamers and tape one end to the top of wherever you like, the door, the porch, wherever and twist it so that it spirals down and tape the other end to the bottom of the door or the floor.

the other ideas are good, but if you have a fire pit take a copper pipe put in inside a garden hose and throw it in the fire it burns blue, green and purple

hang Christmas lights all over outside so at night it looks real pretty- borrow some from friends of you don't have enough. use nice sheets as table covers, jars for flowers, baskets to hold plastic ware and napkins, get some of those paper lanterns to hang up outside too (seen them at discount stores for cheap). I don't' think you'll need to do the streamers and paper bells for this party- keep it a little country chic for the BBQ. check out Goodwill for great deals on nice serving dishes, glasses and pitchers-they always have tons of great finds!

If this is for a wedding, I would decorate in white. I would do some white and silver balloons and streamers. Cluster them in corners, and then hang some of the paper bells. Then add some stringed clear Christmas lights, it would look very pretty and add a really nice mood to the area. You can also add some some candles and clear vases to put the candles in. You can also put some flowers on the tables to add a burst of color. For color, I would accent in the colors of the bridal party, whatever color they're wearing is the color I would accent in. You can use that accent color in the balloons and streamers and flowers, etc. This way it's not all white and adds a touch of color. You can also use that color for the tablecloths and napkins and things. I hope this helps, congratulations!

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography

Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food

Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
