| My parents stated that the Grooms side has to pay for the rehearsal dinner. However my fiance is from Russia and all of his family is in Russia. So WE as in My fiance and I are left to foot the bill for the rehearsal. We don't mind however my mother says that the rehearsal dinner is from the Wedding party and for all the out of town guest.We have 150 people attending the wedding and there are75 out of town guest.I told my mom that we are NOT paying for any out of town guest except for the one's in the wedding and there spouses.I said I would pay for My parents and my grandparentsthe IMMEDIATE IMMEDIATE family and the wedding party.Who is right? |

| The closest relatives and wedding party is the standard. Other dinners are for just that special dinners. |

| You only have to pay for the wedding party. I just flew to Fla. for a wedding that my daughter was in and I didn't go to the rehearsal dinner. It's all expensive and the ones not in the wedding shouldn't expect to be invited. |

| I would say that you are right, only the people that are going 2 b in the wedding should be at the rehersal dinner, and paying for the immediate family is you and your fiance's choice, not your moms. (remember she's not the one getting married, its your special day!) |

| You don't need to invite EVERY single out of town guest. That's beyond absurd. If you have a close aunt in from out of town or something, it is a nice gesture. The absolute necessary people are the couple, parents on each side, siblings and spouses, bridal party and spouses, the minister also should be invited, for politeness sake, but he likely won't come. |

| The rehearsal in are for just for the people in the wedding party...No spouses.No mom-dad,No grandparents,No out of town guess, just the people physically in your wedding..No Immediate family..WEDDING PARTY... |

| The only people that are usually invited to the rehearsal dinner are the bridal party and their spouses, parents, and possibly grandparents if they are still alive.Out of town guests are typically not invited and know that the only meal that they don't have to pay for is the wedding day dinner at the reception.If your mother wants to pay for the additional guests to be at the rehearsal, then let her pay the extra cost. |
