I am a foreign canadian student that's been studying in the UK for the past 2 years. I recently finished exams last Thursday. I have been partying and chilling with friends the past 7 out of 9 days. My parents have paid for my tuition and expenses the past 2 years while studying abroad. I plan on doing a 1 year master's degree. My parents have a cheap flight. Here's the plan:Fly back to Canada for a few weeks. Come back to the UK in JUly for graduation. Fly back to Canada for the rest of the summer. Fly to the UK for the 1 year masters program. Here's key points:My grandma had a heartattack in April in Canada. I was unable to see her since I was doing exams. My cousin's from America are coming. I was unable to attend my cousin's wedding since I had exams. This would be a chance to meet my cousin's husband. My dad's is in his 60's. He has many business commitments and sounds really stressed. In a way, I could help him and be supportive. After all, the party's are never ending. I will be coming back in the fall for a master's. I'll have plenty of good times next year. I just feel that sometimes u have to make sacrifices for family.Am I making the correct choice to fly back to Canada for a few weeks?

Yes, by all means go home for awhile. You have the rest of your life to spoil your parents to repay them for the tremedous gift they have given you. We don't have our families around forever and time spent with them is precious. Don't sweat taking some time out to celebrate your accomplishment. Everyone knows young people need to kick it now and again. Congratulations on your accomplishment. Now go and enjoy your family before starting the next phase!

You would be making the right choice in visiting your family. Why would you choose partying over family in the first place? You shouldn't question this, especially with these circumstances (your grandma, cousin's wedding, etc.)Go be with your family. When you go back to the UK for the 1 year master's program, forget the partying and STUDY.

Yes, I'd say you are making the correct choice. It's important to spend some time with your family, especially since your grandma has not been well and your dad is getting older. It will be really important to them to have you around for a while. There will be plenty of opportunities to party later.

It sounds to me like it's more than your family who needs the moral support. If you go back to Canada, and be with your family for a bit, you'll be sort of "recharging your batteries," so to speak. While you're with your mates, even when it's relaxing time (partying, hanging out, etc.), you're still "on" if you catch my meaning. You still have to be sociable. With family, you can let down those guards, and just be yourself. It sounds like you are going through a fair bit of strain in missing out on all these important family events, and are feeling like you're missing out on your family.Go.Be with them. Recharge yourself, and come back, ready to face your next step of college with a fresh face.

Well, you make a good point about the never-ending parties. So, rest easy knowing that you won't be missing anything special while you are gone. Just do what you feel best doing in your time with your family. You might only regret not making the most of your time with them so, make sure you do that!! You'll be fine no matter what happens!! Have a good vacation!!

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
