I shot my cousin's wedding last weekend. They had NO budget & asked if I would do it. I am NOT a professional but i love photography & I thought I did a pretty good job, especially for the price $0 / I took over 3000 pictures but most were doubles & some were unusable (closed eyes, too dark etc...) after editing they got over 450 pictures. Is that good? Is that too little? I feel like they were looking for more. I was there for about 7 hours. What is the norm for finished product pictures? Thanks in advance. ) |

You should look on wedding websites and see what the packages are.

My parents are professional photographers and own a studio. That's enough pictures, especially for $0! The norm is about 200-250 depending on the package purchased.

I am not sure about the total amount... but 450+ is I think a very good amount?!? My uncle got married this summer and he spent like a ton of $$$ on a photographer and I don't think he got anywhere near that many so I think that is a GREAT deal!! Don't feel down on yourself, I bet they were perfecto!! :-)Tell your cousin congrats!! |

I had a professional do mine and got about 700 pictures and maybe 20 were edited. I would give them a disk with all the pictures in your case a few disks and but the touched up ones on another. You did it for FREE and sounds like you did a pretty good job seriously 450 pictures I mean how many can they possibly need? You only have so much wall space.

If you didn't charge them anything and they have 450 pics of the wedding you did a GREAT job! I paid about $700 for my proffs and the Album with the touched up pics and we ended up with maybe 150 pics total! The best thing is since you're not a "professional" they can take the pics and get them blown up or croped at any place that has a photo machine( walmart drug stores etc.)

I am actually double checking photographers at the moment for my big day and non of them are offering more than 200 pictures. So 200 would be the norm.

my brother got about 1000 pics taken by a professional. well he took way more but took out the not so good ones. then they were given a disk and just went to kinkos and printed the ones they liked. its good to take alot and just let them pick because you dont know exactly what they want. and its also great to have them saved on a disk so if later the wifey gets a great new frame and thinks "hmm a picture of all the young kids dancing would be great here" then she can just print one out.

I'm hiring a guy and he's going to shoot about 100 photos an hour... so 3000 photos was way beyond the call... they are so lucky that they will have 450. I love photos and will have extra cameras on the tables, etc.. and the photographer..but i sincerely doubt that I will have 400 + photos in my album. I'll probably pick the best maybe 50 (if that) ... the rest will go in a shoe box or the really bad ones will be shredded... PS) My parents were married over 46yrs ago and they have a great white album with about 15 photos. It looks awesome. It was a family wedding (tho there were 35 people all siblings, spouses or nieces/nephews)... Wedding photos are great but they are of one day only... the wedding.. they have an entire lifetime to take photos and fill albums.. Maybe give them a cute album with the CD or DVD of the photos... with a note for them to fill it in the coming year with photos...

Hey. 450 is good. Those are the untouched pics I am guessing.Photographers usually have about 10 really good photos that they 'touch up' and these are the ones the couple usually have enlarged and framed. In your case I wouldn't worry too much if the 450 are good anyway they can put them in an album. They got a bargain! Give them the 450 photos (of even the 3000) and I'm sure they will be ecstatic.
