my fiance & i are getting married on october 4th.we are trying to figure out where to go on our honeymoon. originally thinking paris & then tour italy. i've been to italy a number of times, but never to the amalfi coast, so that too would be new for me. neither one of us has been to paris. we would love to do this touring trip as our honeymoon, but at the same time, the thought of just relaxing after our wedding somewhere warm is also very appealing to us. we were thinking somewhere like aruba or curacao (outside of the hurricane zone) .. unless we waited a month or two to take our honeymoon somewhere like st.lucia or jamaica.. and just go away for a few days right after the wedding.just wondering what the suggestions out there are and what your opinions are.. would love to hear them. and if you have any other suggestions, i'm all ears :)thanks in advance for your help...

If you have the money to honeymoon in Europe, you have the money to talk to specialists about what trip would fit your personalities and expectations.Sorry if that didn't sound polite to you. I mean no offense, but I sure as he!! can't relate to the money required for a newly wed couple to travel to Europe (esp. when our money is so low). I guess I would be taking an All-Inclusive vacation and saving my money for home expenditures and future babies. But, if you've got the money, see a specialist who can help you come up with the perfect honeymoon.

You could take a cruise in Europe, this way you could relax as well as tour.

While I understand where "doc" is coming from, talking to a travel agent or "specialist" isn't always the best idea - often they will push the packages they can get the most commission on regardless of a traveler's personality or needs. I have a travel agent friend and she admits that some hotels, airlines and resorts offer hefty commissions when they need customers, and she does pop those offers at the top of her shortlist.Which way you go is entirely dependent on what kind of travelers you are. Do you get easily stressed out when things are uncertain or unplanned? Are you happiest when busy-busy-busy or do you thrive in a laid-back, relaxed environment?I've done both kinds of trips and my first honeymoon was a jam-packed week in Walt Disney World. Yes, it was fun, but we hardly had any time at all to just relax and enjoy being newly married. This time around, I really want to do something more low-key. We've tossed around the idea of a Bahamas hotel, a Mexican or Dominican all-inclusive, and a cruise. I'm really leaning toward a cruise; I've been on about a half-dozen and really like the lack of stress. You can be as active (or lazy!) as you want.

My husband and I went to Bora Bora (Tahiti) on our honeymoon. It was paradise on earth. We stayed in an over the water bungalow. It was amazing and suggest that you check into it. You can just simply lay there and relax or you can go over to the main island and do some tours, sight seeing, etc. The resort were we stayed was amazing. The sand is white and the water is crystal clear and that beautiful blue color. The resort is very secluded. It was a place that I will NEVER forget. I had the time of my life. It is also voted as one of the most beautiful exotic destinations in the world.
