Okay, here are my plans for my wedding, just let me know if it is a good plan for what I want.thanksphotographer: 1,500venue: 600centerpieces: 300ish (it's possibly a over estimate, but this includes the decorations in the reception area too, let me know if this is a good estimate...i'm using silk flowers)Food: 350 (I'm not having dinner, I'm only having snack foods, because it's in the afternoon)dress: 400---i'm going to a retail shop or getting one off seasontuxes: I am not sure how much they cost to rent, but I'm saying... $ 350 for all of the tuxesdecorations for an outside venue(which is already gorgerous), $ 300cake: $ 300bouquets: are going be to be cheap. I'm hand picking them from my yard and tying a ribbon around it. i'd say $15 Bouts: $40 I'm doing the music myself and playing it on an ipod, because it's nice and cheap and it works! =)All that equals about 4,100.Am I missing anything? Is this reasonable?oh, well the invitations I'm making myself!!the gifts aren't included and neither are the rings, because our parents (which are being very nice) are paying for our wedding.i've already booked the venue and photographer

That sounds very reasonable! I myself am having a $5,000 garden wedding for 200 guests, so I know all about budgeting. What about invitations, programs, attendant gifts, and wedding rings?

This might be a useless answer as I don't know how much most things cost but you should watch For Better or For Worse for ideas, they have to organise a wedding in 7 days with a budget of $5,000 so it should be do-able for you. You can certainly get a dress and cake for that amount.I'm pretty sure venues will be more than $600 though? Depends where it is and what they're including though I suppose. Also, getting married off season and on a weekday will save you tons of money.

Favors and stamps are the only other things I can think of off the top of my head.

From what I've experience from working as a floral designer and planning my own wedding (8.27.0Cool everything costs just a little more that what you think it's going to, for the most part. I would give yourself a little leeway, say maybe $500-$800, just in case. If you need it, it's there, and if you don't need it, then you have more money for something else...maybe your honeymoon!

The only thing I see missing is rental fees if you need to rent tables, chairs or tablecloths? Your venue may have this. Also, if you are doing the food yourself - think about plates, napkins, silverware, etc. If you do use a rental company and have them deliver it - they'll charge a delivery fee. You may be including all this in your decorations though. Good Luck!!

I'd say it depends on how many guests you're expecting. Most bakers in my area start at around $4.00 per slice for wedding cake, so I assume your wedding is going to be intimate. I think it's absolutely fine to just have a cake and champagne (or punch) reception as long as you are well away from a traditional mealtime - ceremony after 1:00 but before 4:00. Otherwise guests expect to be fed and you shouldn't assume that they remember that you specified the type of reception in the invite. Are you having it catered? If so, don't forget labor fees, service charge (15 -25%) and tax. Ask for a detailed proposal. Actually - a lot of that stuff might be taxed. You might want to check with your photog that his fee includes tax. What about beverages - punch, champagne, bar? Even if you're not having/hosting a bar, you should at least offer punch or the like for your guests. Just keep in mind that if you're not having dinner, bar, DJ, etc that the reception may be on the short side. This isn't a criticism - those things just give the event structure. Don't forget appetizer plates and forks, cake plates and forks, cocktail napkins, punch cups of champagne glasses, etc.Good Luck!

since you've already booked the photographer and the venue, $600 is a bit steep especially if its in the afternoon and you are only paying $350 for food, i work in a function centre and depending on how many people you're inviting and the tihe amount of time you'll be there you're not going to get much food for $350 and what about beverage?have you actually got quotes or looked at the other things on the list? like the tuxes...$300 for a cake is pretty expensive too...i've seen some beautiful cakes that the b&g have bought for $150 - $200.good idea for the ipod.

Part of it isn't very realistic - way too much for a photographer and hardly any for food and bar. I'd sure reverse those two amounts!
