It would be for about 500 guests, the food is already taken care of. But I am concerned about invitations, the hall costs, the church fees, my dress, the tuxedos, FLOWERS, photography, the cake, security, the DECORATIONS...I love ideas/suggestions for decorations as well. Cheap but classy. Please provide links or business names. It won't be until March of 2009, but planning between work and school is the reason I'm looking so soon. PLEASE HELP!! Much appreciated! Smile

Check out www.theknot.com and also your location would help for businesses! What is your theme? Have you decided on anything yet?The best way to keep costs down is to hunt for bargains, don't over do it (K.I.S.S.), and say NO to anything over your budget!

Your question is about budget so the answer is that 50% of your budget should be reserved for the reception. 10% or less toward attire. The rest goes toward flowers, decorations, photographer, limo, church etc. Flowers usually ARE the decorations at a wedding so I'm not sure what else you are talking about.

buy this wedding planner trust me on this.. it saved me money here is the web site www.windsorpeak.com/bargains.comI bought the book at j.w. beecroft bookstore but here are some ideas for you just the same: the invitations you can do them by yourself you can buy them at walmart real reasonable, the church should be a donation and generally its 100 dollars. your dress you can rent there are places you can do this, you could have someone make it for your , you could buy it off of ebay at a much cheaper price, i know many people whom have done that. Buy a planner called bridal bargains it tells you everything I bought this and its helped me out.. You could use silk instead of real much cheaper this way. Photographers are super spendy have cameras at your wedding and reception that are throw aways and have family and friends do your pictures much cheaper that way as well. I too am getting married june 2009

Do you honestly need 500 people at it? The costs will be enormous! Try Invitations By Dawn...they are fabulous and have reasonable prices. You can go to a re-sale shop for your dress, I did, and got a $2,400.00 dress for $400. Do you know someone who can do your flowers? Silk work out much cheaper, they can be done months in advance, too. Get the smallest package from the photographer, you can do your own enlargements on your computer, or at Costco. You can use candlesticks from the dollar store, just get the glass ones, and tall candles(tapers) from there too! Put the candles in the freezer, they will burn longer at the reception. Spray the candles and sticks with sparkle spray paint. Looks beautiful in the candlelight. Don't even try to do place card seating, you will drive yourself crazy trying to seat 500 people!

Decide what the few most important things about your wedding are and DON'T SCIMP ON THEM... For me it was good food (the Caterer), good entertainment (the DJ), and good pictures to remember everything by (the Photographer). After you have your dream elements down everything else should get designated just enough money to spend on so they fit in your budget. For example, I opted for a photographer that was a little more then I had hoped I would spend but because it was so important to me to have great pictures I decided to go with a wholesale florist and make the bouquets and decorations with my mom and sister. I also decided on a gorgeous (less expensive) dress from David's Bridal rather then a designer one. Your man won't know the difference and will be drooling regardless! The Budget worked itself out that way. Dream elements first, more minor details will fall together.

If you mean the food is taken care of by way of a caterer than that is one thing but if you mean family and friends are offering that is quite another. Do you have a location in mind? Call and reserve now. If they won't accept a deposit now make sure you keep in contact with that person. If they are to leave before you can make your resevation you may not have the same results. Also you can go looking for a dress, take your time and find something you will enjoy and love. As far as a budget your asking for cheap and classy which is fine but in reality you sound as if you want to spend between $15,000 to $25,000 but only want to spend $5,000 to $10,000. You have to find a planner who will guide you and not mislead you in anyway.
