I ordered wedding invitations from what appeared to be a reputable company, oliostyle.com. When the invitations came, they were not even close to the color on the proof. I don't have time to fight for my money back and have invitations printed with another company. I would just use them but the blue is so different from what I ordered that it won't even match a green which is the other wedding color. How do I convince the company to re-print the invitations and re-print them quickly?Thank you for all the responses! From what I found on the web, I think this is a one-person shop. Since she is not responding to e-mails and I have no phone number, I contacted the magazine where they were featured as one post suggested. Hopefully, I will have this resolved soon. If not, I will work with the dark blue and file a complaint with the BBB.

Tell them there is a major error and you want them reprinted in the PROPER color ASAP at no cost along with your refund. If they refuse report them to the BBB and threaten to take them to small claims court. If need be you can buy invitation kits at WalMart, Target and office supply stores.

I don't know if there is anything you can do to make sure 100% that they definitely are going to re-print the invitations quickly. If you can get a hold of someone at the customer service representation tell them that they breached the contract and you will sue them unless they fix the situtation fully and to your satisfaction. Give them a time period such as a week to rectify the problem and hold firm. in the meantime, price other invitations to see what you can do to mitigate your damages. Find out if somewhere else will rush print for you if need be.

Oh gosh, this scares me! I don't have an answer per se, but I am also ordering my invitations online. I used weddingpaperdivas though. I also ordered my Save the Dates through them and those turned out okay so I think I am safe! Can you email or telephone in and let them know of the big error? Did you get mailed a proof, or did you just see it online? If you got mailed a proof and its that different, you should DEFINITELTY have no problems getting new invites or a refund, or both!

Is the green that you're worried about being used with the invitations? If it is, then I'd worry about it, but if it's not--maybe you should just use what you've got, and cross it off your list of things to do, instead of stressing it. I understand where you're coming from, I really do. You paid for them to be right, and they're not. You have every reason to be upset. I would just ask myself, is it REALLY worth getting worked up over, or can you make them work. I guarantee you though--you and your mom will be the only people who will realize the invite doesn't match the green in the bridesmaids dresses. What I would do is call the company, ask to speak to management--if you're dealing with customer service, then you want to speak with the highest ranking person in cust. service--someone who has the authority to make a decision on the spot--don't waste your time dealing with cust. svc. reps who will have to get back to you. Explain that you're not happy with your order, explain specifically what the problems are with it. Do this WITHOUT being emotional about it. Be professional, calm and collected--script it out if you need, but don't get worked up over it. You'll have a MUCH higher likelihood of getting what you want if you're professional about it. What I've always found works is explaining what my problem is, then ask them "What can we do to fix this?" Approach it from a standpoint of wanting to solve the problem--rather than dictating to the company what they MUST do. If they offer a solution that will not work (too late, etc.) then calmly explain that won't work, explain why (rationally) and then say "What else can we do?"Also, keep filing a lawsuit as a last resort. I never tell a company I'm going to sue them either--because when I say that they immediately lose any reason to help me. I've worked customer service for years--and there's a point where most companies will tell their employee to simply back off, there's nothing you can do to make this person happy. It's usually at the point where the customer threatens a lawsuit. The company's know that 99% of the time--it's an empty threat. The cost of filing a lawsuit, plus the time, hassle, etc., is rarely worth it for invitations that you spent $250 on (I'm pulling a figure out of the sky here). The company knows this. Best wishes, and I hope this is the biggest issue you have to deal with on your wedding planning!

Reprinting them shouldn't take long...they would have a file all set up that they'd just need to tweak, run them again and rush ship them to you at their cost. I see that they were featured in the magazine "Destination Weddings". Try calling the magazine to see if they have a contact number for them because they only offer e-mail contact on their website. Let the magazine know you are dissatisfied with what you received and you urgently need to contact them.http://www.destinationweddingmag.com/contact_us.jspI see on Olio's website that they suggest checking your spam/junk folder if you didn't receive a response...could it be there?

I don't know how quickly you need them, but if you file a Better Business Bureau report, this usually springs them into action. Best idea is to call and be calm about it. Ask to speak to a direct supervisor before even describing the situation so the customer service rep does not get upset (supervisors are trained to handle situations in a better way) and leave you at a dead end. If all else fails, file the report.

Unfortunately, most companies online don't guarantee that your paper will be the same color as in the picture. It's definitely worth a fight though. If they absolutely refuse, then just go with it. Honestly, how many people are going to say to themselves "oh my gosh, the invitation we left at home don't match anything at this reception!"If you don't make a big deal out of it, no one will even notice. I'm so sorry this happened |
