My husband doesn't wear his wedding ring but I do...does God still view us as married...I wear my wedding band and engagement ring...Also, my husband gave me my engagement ring the day before we got married and I went with him to buy it and I was the first person to put it on my finger...he didn't slip it on as far as I can remember...Does God still view us as married to each other? My husband and I that is...Christian view...

Rings are a typically Western marriage custom. They have no bearing on whether or not a couple is actually married. Impediments to marriage (at least in my faith) are much more serious--being too young, not being fully cognizant, not completing marital relations, etc. Wedding rings are not necessary to make a marriage valid.

if you both stood up before God and made your vows in the convenant of holy matrimony, then God recognizes your marriage til death separates you.the rings are merely a symbol of your vows before Him...

Unless the guy who married you did not have a valid Justice Of The Peace license or the clergy was an actor, you and your hubby are married in the sight of the law and God. Wouldn't it be cool if you found out the preacher was an actor? You would have to do it all over again! Would you get married in white again?

A ring is merely a symbol. It doesn't mean anything.Been married a loooong time, I don't wear mine. Never strayed. I know tons of people that wear their rings and boink like bunnies with anytihng that moves.

Rings are a very bad idea for anyone who works with their hands, particularly around electicity. I had a friend who always refused to remove his ring for anything because he thought it would affect the sanctity of his marriage. He nearly lost his finger when he was taking a battery out of his riding lawnmower and shorted it out with the wrench against his ring. The ring heated up enough to char the flesh and fuse with it, and they had to cut the ring off anyway. If your god would rather see that happen, it's time for a new god.

Of course you're married. Why doesn't your husband wear his ring? Can you tell him that it makes you feel bad?I haven't worn my wedding ring since I was pregnant and got sausage-y fingers, and DH hasn't worn his since last year when he broke it on something. We just haven't replaced them. We just celebrated our 25th anniversary.

Of course. You still did the ceremony, so unless you got a divorce, you two are still married. (In God and everyone's eyes.) A ring doesn't define that.

Christian view---what if you had no fingers? God forbid. But it could happen. Do you think less of your vows? No? Gold bands are pretty but your vow to yur husband & his to you are in your hearts.
