During the Today show, Kathy Lee was polling the audience about wedding ring traditions. One of the answers was about Pagans not wearing metal on their right side. She said,"the nasty, bad pagans". Anyone else think it was wrong of her to slander a religion like that?

Who cares about Pagans? They don't even exist.Show me some Pagans sacrificing newborns to a red hot altar of Baal and I'll reconsider.

Pagans don't wear metal on their right side? What an incredibly cool superstition! Is it true?I've got a couple stainless steel brackets and 9 screws holding my right leg together---is that bad?

This is old news. I would hope she was kidding around. If not I feel sorry for her that she is so uneducated that she would open her mouth and insert her foot to her neck.

It is not what's happening, that is a problem. It is what we "think" about what is happening, that causes problems.....

Absolutely... Christians are the first ones to throw stones at anybody else... but they don't read the Bible to know that the Bible God is grossly involved in forcing people to eat their own children for dinner!!!I read in the Bible that GOD FORCES his chosen people to eat their own children for dinner, but Christians say that’s not true! God does not force them, but he allows them to do it because they have sinned! Jeremiah 19:9 – I* (*God, NOT SATAN, but GOD!) Will make them eat the flesh of their sons and daughters... The Bible says that this promise of God was actually served…!Lamentations 4:10 - With their own hands COMPASSIONATE* (*God loving!) women have cooked their own children... (This is not an isolated case in the Bible!)Christians say that nobody can resist God's will… no matter how psychopathic it can be because God has a plan! Still Christians deny abortion to mothers who are in desperate need of one! Isn’t this Christian bigotry? They hate Pagans for no reason, too... and I get suspended all the time... Christian hatred is very subtle...!!!

Irritating, not offensive. It was stupid and insenstive, not hatespeech.Leave the outrage orgies to the fundies. We're better than that. If it bugged you, write a calm letter to the Today show and explain that, but don't become one of those OMG! Thiz meens warrr!!!!11!!!11 people.....

Nope - it was light-hearted, and if you're a pagan, you should be strong and comfortable enough to let it just slip off your back, lest you end up like the Muslims and kill people because someone drew a picture of your prophet with a bomb for a turban.

Rude yes, wrong yes, a big deal...no.Plenty of people openly slander religion all the time in the media. This time it is the pagans turn. That is her opinion, she has the right to her opinion no matter how rude it is. It seems that some non theists don't understand that when you allow other beliefs to be slandered and ridiculed; and find such practices forgivable that pretty soon you will be next in line. Intolerance is a progression and it goes up hill and down hill.Once the major religion are out of the way, what do you think will be focused on next?
