I am sorry to hear of your disappointment. I just had to have a talk with my guy and tell him flat out ( in a nice mature way) that I wanted to be married and did not want to date forever. I explained that if he did not want that that we needed to part ways so that I /we could each pursue what would make us happiest in our own right. I shared with him that I did not want to break up and that it would hurt if we did, but that i needed to honor myself and my desires and I was not getting any younger. (((I am 36 and have never been married because I really enjoyed the single life in my 20's and a few years after that.)) We did shop for rings, and I thought i would get one on Valentine's day. I did not. I once again reitterated my desires. I was beginning to think that he only took me to look at rings to appease me and buy himself more time. On April 18, 2008 he proposed with my very favorite 2.5 carat ring! (wow!) Funny because I was just about ready to tell him we were through . I was sick of waiting. I am glad I told him what I wanted out of life. I think we would stillbe dating if I had not said something. He is getting into the planning, too. Shopping for silk plants and wine and stuff.
