| After 5 means, after work... For a late September wedding, it's already fall. You can always wear your "little black dress" never fails. But if its a close family member or a good friend, then maybe check out bridesmaid dresses, there are some very pretty not at all like the "traditional" ugly bridesmaid dress. |

| Generally when invitations has "After 5 Wear", it means smart casual/cocktail, not yet evening, as that is too formal. Knee length dresses are usually a very good idea (more than half my wardrobe are dresses) as they can be a very dressy casual. It also tends to mean non-work clothes, so it requires a bit more effort!Spring weddings are wonderful, as flowy knee length dresses are really the ideal style! |

| To me After 5 means 'Cocktail' style. Ladies nice dress but not formal, guys slacks, shirt and tie. |
