I've never been to a wedding before. I don't know what kind of dress and colors are appropriate for a wedding. If it matters it will be an outdoor wedding at the end of October in Southern California. The wedding is going to be around 11:00 AM. There's a reception afterwards. I think the reception may be indoor but I am not sure. I really need to know what color and style of dress I should buy. Thanks for all help and suggestions. |

Don't wear anything that is light....no cream, no white, etc. Wear a nice sundress and bring a cute cardigan to match in case it gets chilly. Get some dressy sandals and your good to go.

Usually morning weddings are less formal so I would suggest a nice dress such as one you would wear to an upscale restaurant. Nothing sexy or revealing.

I would pick a nice elegant cocktail style dress that comes below the knee and some nice strappy shoes. If its colder where you are, you could team up the dress with a nice shawl type thing. I always try to make sure I dress in a different colour to the bridal party. Hope this helps.

A short sleeved semi-formal dress w/ a wrap or shawl in autumn colors (orange, brown, bergundy, or tan), with brown shoes.

You'll get an idea of what colors the bride will be using for her wedding by the invitation so avoid those colors (or wear something complementary). Be sure to stay away from white or cream colors as this would be insulting to the bride. Dress pants might be a bit hot at that time of day so look for a cute cocktail dress or even a nice blouse and skirt.

the main thing is to stay away from white(that's what the bride will be in), black(symbolizes death) and red(symbolizes a tramp). its ok if all of these colors r in the dress u chose but not just 1 of these. a burnt orange sundress would be really cute for the time of year and time of day! good luck!
