It sounds a little weird when I first learned english and heard ring finger as the name of one of our finger. Who has created the name ? An why people agree to say that ?

They (I don't know who they is) say that there is a vein in your ring finger that is connected to your heart.

It's put on your ring finger to go with your engagement ring. We put it on our ring finger because if we put it on our middle finger (in order to show off our diamond, when we're excited about our relationship status) we'd be giving everyone 'the finger'.

I heard you have a vein that goes from your left hand ring finger directly to your heart. They say it's a circle because there is no beginning and no end. It's everlasting.

The "Ring finger" is the one to the right of our pinky on our left hand. There is a practical and romantic reason for this being the "Ring finger". Practical Reason: If the ring is worn on this finger, it is protected by the pinky and the middle finger. The first three fingers are used a lot and if a ring was worn on those fingers, it would ruin the ring.Romantic Reason: Long ago, they used to think that a vein in the "ring finger" ran through that finger, through the arm, and straight to the heart. Aww... cute isn't it?
