I can't make any decisions on colour. We are having the reception in a marquee.SO now they are asking what colours I want for tablecloths and chair covers and the table runners and chair sashs.I think I will wear a Sophia Tolli dress in spun gold, so basically a really light gold. I saw one dress that was black, and breathtakingly amazing but its about 6 grand and a bit outside the budget. I am also afraid It would just look way too gothic and outrageous. SO How Can I get my black fix seeing as the marquee has a WHITE silk roof and walls, and I hate the idea of a just black and white wedding?I want the colours to really just look amazing with loads of flowers to coordinate. Can someone give me a link for examples of table set ups incorporating black? No I'm 24 Emo didn't exist when I was a teenager = ) Cheeky.I Just think black can look gorgeous and oh-so different from the usual blah white table cloth white chair cover..The table decor doesn't need to include gold, I'm trying to find a colour scheme that won't clash with my beautiful light spun gold dress! And then bridesmaid dress colours that won't clash with the table decor, but will accent the pale gold dress!

Black, red and gold? what about silver instead of gold. Also black and white would be nice, you can add color with your flowers, use red and pink flowers

My sister was married at Christmas time and all the bridesmaids wore black dresses and carried red roses with gold ribbon. I don't have a pic for you, but it was beautiful! I picture for your wedding. white table clothes, white chair covers with a gold bow holding them on, black cloth napkins, and beautiful red roses centerpieces. I think it would be beautiful.

You could do white table cloths with black and gold accent pieces (napkins, napkin holders, vases for flowers). It would put just a touch of gold in the color scheme to break it up. If you want to incorporate red, I would suggest putting punches of red in the flower arrangements. Subtle, not stark black and white, but also not goth looking either.

Yes, I would say it's borderline tacky.... not because it's ugly but it always has a "cheap" look to it. Could you go Fushia instead of red? Or emerald?

I'm having black, white & cranberry-red as my wedding colors. So including black is right up my alley. I'm using it in smalls ways, though - - ribbons on the bouquets and that sort of accent-type thing. While I'm not a huge fan of gold as a color, I think light gold and a deep red (cranberry or burgundy or brick - some bridal lines call it claret or merlot also) would look absolutely amazing and a hint of black will make the other two colors pop!!!
