Honestly, I do not like wedding favors. They tend to go to waste and most people throw them out. Instead of spending money on favors (they can get costly!), donate the money to your favorite charity. Create a place card with the name of your guest and table number and underneath it say the following: In lieu of favors, Mr and Mrs Jones have made a donation to the [Name of Charity] in your name. It is unique and different and perhaps it will encourage others to adopt a similar idea.

Depending on your budget, how many guest you're having, and how much time you have. I would do some chocolate covered strawberries. It sound expensive and time consuming but it's not. You can do it the night before your wedding with some help from your bridal party or family. Look online and find like a wholesale co. where you can purchase like a really unique package. Doll them up with ribbon . If you decide to do this, I am Sexycute75 and send me a message I'll respond. Good luck.

Keep them edible. What's the theme...the colors? We are having a milk and cookie bar. As guests leave they will fill a baggie with cookies that includes the receipie for our 'signature" cookie that we made up. In addition to the signature cookie each VIP of the wedding has chosen thier favorite type to be included in the bar and we have the pint sized milks.

Seeing pspop idea reminded me of cookie cutter favors. I've seem them filled with candies or mints then wrapped in tulle. You could do heart shapes or anything that might represent both of you.

Save your money ... it is completely unnecessary to have wedding favors.

That was a cute idea. My husband and I got personalized M&Ms for our favors in our wedding colors and had them in a silver (one of the colors) tin. We had our name on one and on the other the date of our wedding. They were a big hit!

I like the idea of little trees, or you can plant your own seeds in little pots and let them grow a few weeks in advance of your wedding. you can even decorate the pots to match your colors.

For every person who says "Awwww, how cu-u-u-u-u-ute!" there are two people grumbling to themselves "Jeez Louise, what a pain in the @$$ dealing with this silly cr@p" when they some plastic trash or child-level craft item next to their plate. My advice is skip favors entirely, since most of them will straight to the dumpster. Use that money for something that will truly add to your guests' pleasure, like a better band, better food and drink, a more convenient time/location, a clown/babysitter for the kids, etc. No one had even heard of wedding favors until maybe 30 or 40 years ago. The "Jet Set" (or "Beautiful People"), giving their $450,000 "little parties" would sometimes give each guest a diamond and gold trinket from Cartier. The Wedding Industry, in it's never ending search for yet more ways to get at your money, starting promoting the idea that we ordinary people should also give each guest a party favor. Of course TWI didn't point out how ridiculous we ordinary people would look aping the behavior of the Rolls Royce crowd on our Toyota Camry budgets. The only people who think favors are required, or that it will "look funny" to not have them are people who have been totally brainwashed by The Wedding Industry. Go check your Miss Manners or Emily Post if you don't believe me. Please don't burden your guests with having to pretend pleasure at receiving useless junk. (However, I think the idea of having candy each place is festive and fun. It's just having to deal with the stupid spoon that brings out the Wedding Grinch in me.)

go to marylandchina.com. They have beautiful white porcelain favors like small candy dishes and trinket boxes for under $3.00 per piece. I bought 25 of #5029 for $2.50 and they are stunning. I am placing candy inside the trinket box and placing them in cardboard box, wrapped in holiday paper because it is a Dec. birthday party for me and it looks absolutely smashing. Try marylandchina.com..you will be pleasantly surprised. Email ashley if you have any questions or need advice. Nice company.

Most people prefer edibles. Cookies, mini chocolates, etc. Most though will eat the candy and throw out the spoon with the 'spoonful of kisses' favor. What is your theme?
