We are getting married in September so we are having a fall themed wedding. For the wedding favors we are thinking of using the wine glasses from the toast. We where thinking of getting personilized ribbon with our names and wedding date on them, and tying it around some tool with fall colored hershey kisses and placing them inside of the wine glasses. We are on a fixed budget and i dont want to get to out of hand with the favors....what do you think about this idea?? The wine glasses will be part of the favors as well. Can anyway help me out with this?Oh...and just so you know I LOVE EVERYONE ANSWERS so far....but the wine glasses are plastic, i already have 300 of them and i have 77 glass wine glasses for my family so the cost of the glasses isnt an issue. But thanks...everyone!!

I think that is a GREAT idea. Do you think the wine glasses might get a little pricey though? If so, you can always just do the same concept without the wineglass. Tie up the kisses in a small clear baggy and add your pretty ribbon with a personalized note. Have fun!

Wow, how organised you are!!! People don't tend to do wedding favours in the UK, but what you are suggesting sounds kinda nice. I'm assuming it's a momento of your big day, something which people will want to keep and treasure.

Sounds like a nice idea and you might want to check out these tags. I did the personalized ribbons myself!! I used little silver bells though instead of wine glasses. The ribbons are fairly inexpensive and I bought mine online. Just look around for the best deal. They always have personalized wine glasses, but alot of people are doing that as well. The idea you have sounds great. If you'd like you can email me, I did my whole wedding for under 2k, and made church pew bows and etc by myself. I found it was a great stress reliever the closer the wedding came. Congratulations!!

I think that is a very cute idea. It will be easy enough so you won't be stressed, but personalized enough that your guests will like it.

I think the idea sounds good but if you are on a budget and don't want to get out of hand with the favors then might I suggest something smaller than a wine glass for your favors. I planned to get these goblets to make it much cheaper, its a smaller glass, cost less and doesn't take that much candy, just a suggestion. Hope this helps.http://partycity.com/cgi-bin/parties/favors.cgi?name=Goblet%20M%20Mega%20Favor%20Kit%2024ct&parties=Wedding&productstype=Kits&products=83724&zoom=1&start=&originaltype=Favors

i think that is definitely a good idea! a lot of people now that are on a tight budget only give candy so i like that you are also giving the wine glass.. but i wonder instead of giving hershey kisses.. maybe you can get candy heart molds and make white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate hearts and give each person one of each.. it will put a little more of a personal touch into it, ya know? its really easy and cheap to do.. thats what i did for my friends wedding.. we actually wrapped them in different colored foil foil to match the color scheme that she was using.. but you dont have to do that.. that was just an extra touch we gave it!

I think its a great idea. Especially for those that are couples, its something that they will be able to continue to use after the wedding, not just some useless piece of junk with someone Else's name on it. Go for it!

I think it sounds great! Since you are on a fixed budget, I don't think you need to do both the wine glasses AND the candy.. you can always do the wine glass with the ribbon around the stem, or you can just do the candy. All three ways are perfectly acceptable!

If you're on a budget, then why are you bothering with favors at all? Perhaps minions of The Wedding Industry tell you that you MUST buy some cheap little geegaw for each guest, but Emily Post and Miss Manners do not. Who are you going to listen, the folks that are trying to sell you stuff or the acknowledged authorities? For every person who reacts with "Aawwwwww, how CU-U-U-U-UTE!" there is another person inwardly grumbling "And now I'm supposed to cart home this foolishness and remember to put it on the mantle every time they come over? What a pain in the butt!" No one ever grumbles about having more champagne or a better band though. And why in the world would anyone WANT a single wine glass? Unless it's a family of six or something, so that they have a set, then this "odd" glass will probably go straight in the Goodwill basket. After the party, pack up your seven dozen glasses in their original shipping crate. Then both extended families can trot them out for every party over the next 40 years or so. Sorry to be "The Wedding Grinch" but it really frosts me to see The Wedding Industry pervert etiquette for the sake of bullying starry-eyed brides into wasting their precious money on useless and unnecessary overpriced junk.
