My husband just bought a new Pearl drumset with part of our wedding gift money-- but we live in an apartment. Where are some places he can play without bothering people? All you rockers out there... where did you practice? In re: to answer one-- I want to hear him play.

Get a cheap storage unit at a warehouse. or something like that. It was kinda dumb of him to buy the drum set without having a plan on where he is going to put it to play it. Maybe he can get into a little jam band and end up keeping his drums at the guitarist's house or something. That way you don't have to hear it, and he can leave the house for a while on the weekends leaving you some peace and quiet.

There are round muffler disks you can buy called "Sound-Offs". They muffle about 90% of the sound of the snare and toms. They also make cymbal silencers. They are inexpensive. Here is a link: http://www.zzounds.com/item--HHQSOPAKThen, if you stuff a couple of pillows in the bass drum, you have a near-silent drum kit for practice. Hopefully this will not disturb the neighbors. When he gets together elsewhere with other musicians, the Sound-Offs lift right off so he can hear the full sound of the drums. peace.
