she was a "one stop wedding shop". If a planning company offered you cakes, invitations, limo services, and photography services included in their packages, would you hire them, or would you rather find your own vendors? One of the things I was stressed the most about when planning my wedding was all of the different people to deal with, different places to go, etc.... I thought it would have been nice to have one phone call to make, and everything could be handled just from communicating to this one person, and 1 company. What do you think? I am considering starting up something like this, but I want to see if people would use the service.Yes, this is what a wedding planner does, BUT, this would be a little different. I guess it all depends on the couple. At first, I didn't feel I needed a planner. I felt I could do everything myself, and because it was so fun, and it was MY day, I didn't want any help. That attitude changed so much a couple of months before the wedding. Once I realized how much more I had to do, that "fun" turned to "stress".I'm not saying its impossible to plan your own wedding, but you MUST have free time. If you work, go to school, have children, etc..., planning will not be as fun as it should be. At least with a planner, you can pick and choose what you want to handle yourself, then dump the rest on someone else:)From everyones answers here, I guess its 50/50. It just depends on the couple. Thanks for answering.

If I could afford it, I would do it! I'm doing most of my wedding stuff myself, only because of a lack of money. But I could afford it I would definiltey hire someone....and one place to do it all sounds like a great idea!

I probably would if I had the money; Just make sure to offer different choices and price levels for each item you present to the bride.

You'd have to have GREAT customer service. I'd want to know I'm going to get exactly what I want for my wedding. It's a good idea but you're going to have to market that you really listen to what the bride and groom want.

yes, if it was not too expensive. i enjoyed planning it all myself, but found it exhausting, like you said, dealing with so many different places. it would be good to have one place to go to, but still have the control (ooh, see, controlling and bride just go hand in hand, don't they?!), over any decisions.sounds good.good luck

I totally would have if I had the money! When I got married I didn't have any help & it actually was much more stressful then enjoyable. I think if you make it somewhat affordable that would be great!! I think you would get more clients that way.

If it's in your budget then....YES!! Oh my goodness...the wedding planner executes your every whim (within reason) and you are stress free. If you can give your wedding stress to someone else who does this for a living no less, then I say...do it!

No, we wouldn't have. There's no way one service can offer something to suit the taste, style or budget in a one-stop shop. We liked being able to individualize things every step of the way.Good luck, though.

Personally I wouldn't, I enjoyed shopping around and did months of research into things when my fiance and I started talking seriously about getting married. I knew he was going to propose but just not when, so I was pretty much organised already when he did propose, we spoke about the sort of wedding we wanted and colours etc, and I enjoyed having this special time planning with him, it's our day and we wanted to do it together, I also found it much cheaper to shop around, for example one company wanted to charge me £160 for 35 fairy cakes, and a second company wanted just £33, so you have to make sure your prices are competitive to attract people.

I would not.I would shop around because so many other places might have something else you want. However, if you dont really have the time to put into the wedding and dont mind what that one place has to offer, than go for it. I just planned my wedding last year and I had to do some research and shopping to get just what i wanted. Either way, good luck!

Everyone is going to have a different idea of how to plan a wedding. Many choose wedding planners to coordinate and find the best deals on everything. Others just want to tell the planner what they think they want and let them go to it themselves. Most planners have agreements with companies they work for. Anything from a discount on a wedding gown or flowers, special package deals on photography or catering. In reality, most wedding planners are a one stop shop. They know who to see to find what the bride to be wants. Different vendors have different specialties, and it is unlikely that one person can accomodate all of those requirements. However, your idea is a good one, you may be able to do a good business as a single company entitiy for the full wedding package. Many events can be fully coordinated on the basics. I would also suggest having other vendors and specialty business relationships in place for those brides that have a more unique taste than a single company can provide.

Its nice to have a wedding planner if planning a wedding out of town. My husband and I actually liked going to the different cake places and photographers to see what our options were and to get different ideas. If you can offer a chance to see many options that would be good. But I have to say, we were grad students and didn't have much time but we liked doing a lot of it by ourselves.Good luck.

Probably not, I would assume that the planner would have price mark-ups of her/his own, so it would cost more. Also, I feel that it would take away from the big day. I have realy enjoyed planning my own wedding and making the save-the-dates and invitations myself! I am really excited to see the pay off of my efforts when I walk down the aisle, to know that I planned the whole thing myself is a real treat I'm looking forward to.

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
