I want the invitation to be pretty, but can't I just print out pieces of paper with reception invitation on it and stick them in with the invitations? Same with the RSVP cards. Or do I need to use the matching ones? It seems silly to pay so much for them.

Well you can print them out if you want. Use publisher to make them look nice and print them out on like nice paper that you can buy at Office Depot. It is a bit silly but sometimes they'll give you a discount if you're buying the bundle type thing. Look at other options if you have time. But by printing them yourself you're saving yourself some money that can be used towards other things. :]Good Luck

It is true, it's your wedding and you can do whatever you like. Making your own invitations can still be very pretty, but it is also very time consuming depending on how many guests you are inviting.Personally, I do not like many of the pre-made cards out there, but really like what Print & Paper shops have to offer. Plus they do all the hard work of proofing, printing, folding, gluing etc. etc. They you can also add little accents to match the theme of your wedding. This can get a little pricey too, depending on the quality of paper, amount of paper used etc. This site has a lot of great information about wedding invitations: http://www.everythingaboutweddings.net/wedding-invitations/

try printing them on name badge paper.. they usually punch out to 6 a page at 2 inch by 3 inch dimensions.. you can buy them at staples and they will work on any printer.. you just need to download the templates..i don't think they need to match.. just not clash...

The reception information goes on the wedding invitation, in the lower left corner, in smaller print.Usually, the rsvp cards and thank you cards (what they call informals) are included as part of a package deal. However, there is nothing wrong at all with doing it all yourself!

You want a unified look. Either buy all the components, or make the entire invitation yourself.
