My husband and I have been invited to a wedding and the invitation said, "Black tie preferred." I was just a bridesmaid in a wedding and was wondering if this dress would be okay to wear. Be honest please! My dress is the exact same color, but minus the bow..Thanks!http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=2326&prodgroup=110Yeah, I was thinking it may be a tad too formal. Maybe I'll see if I can find a nice black dress. Thanks everyone! Also, nobody from the wedding I was in will be at this wedding. It's on the east coast and the wedding I was in was in California and it's completely different set of people. Trust me, I already thought about that!

I'd say that's a bit too formal. You'll look like you're part of the wedding party rather than just being a guest. I'd get a semi-formal black dress (your dress is tooo formal) that way you'll always be prepared in the future.Good luck |

Lovely. Go for it unless there will be people from the wedding you were bridesmaid at. Then it might not be a good idea.Personally I would feel more comfortable in a shorter tea length type dress. But if you are happy with it go for it.

I actually think that the dress might be a little too much. It is gorgeous, but maybe a little to bridesmaidish.

It's too formal... You'd look more like a bridesmaid than a guest... You need something a little less formal. If you wore it, you'd be overdressed. It is a really pretty dress though... beautiful color... it's just too much lol.You should wear something LIKE this: http://www.davidsbridal.com/social_dresses_detail.jsp?stid=2805&prodgroup=213It's basic, elegant, and not too much.=]

Beautiful dress, but it might be a little too formal, I think. You might look better than the wedding party.

It looks too much like a bridesmaid dress, and it's in a style that's not only associated with "bridal" but it's also a style that's falling out of favor right now.Not knowing your body type, this would be more appropriate:http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2943214/0~2376776~2374327~2374331~6001765~6001768?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6001768&P=4

It is a Beautiful dress...no lie, but i think you might just make the bride look bad. try something more calm and lighter. I like the sound of a simple GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Um, how can it be a bit too formal, Black tie is meant to be very formal (only white tie is more so).The dress is lovely and will suit the dress code. You should wear it. Anyway, better to be overdressed than underdressed.

I think it is great as long as the other bridesmaids will not be wearing Apple.

1. i think its too formal, and 2. what if someone from the other wedding is at this one? it might be a bit tacky to wear a bridesmaid dress so soon after the wedding.

Well I think it depends on where the wedding is being held. It is a little to formal if you ask me, but then again, when else are you going to get wear it! If you really want to wear it, I suggest adding some thin straps to it or shorting it a bit to make it a little less formal.

I do love the colour and the top part, I think the skirt makes it seem a bit like a bridesmaid dress, if the skirt were a bit straighter then it would work.
