Hello!I am trying to find how other photographers prefer to shoot there outdoor portraits. When going from scene to scene in say, a park for example, how is your camera set? For example I use Aperture Priority. I use to use Manual Mode. There is also Shutter Priority. And Program Mode. Which do you do? THANKS GUYS!

Depends on which camera I am using. If it is a film camera I use manual mode and eyeball everything. ON the digital I use Auto mode but rarely use it for portraits anyway.

I went to a talk this week by Ron Rosenstock ( http://www.ronrosenstock.com/ ) , he studied under Minor White and Ron is now considered one of the top100 living photographers in the world. He shoots his landscapes Aperture Priority because he wants it stopped down. BTW, he also shoots jpeg, not raw!

Usually Aperture priority or Manual. RAW will probably not be neccessary when I shot under sunlight but I don't see why I want to shoot JPEG only.

More often aperture priority or manual, occasionally program, depending on what the subject is, how critical the exposure needs to be, and how often the lighting is changing.

For portraits, 95% of the time, I'm working in Aperture Priority mode. The other 5%, depending on the type of portrait - sometimes clients want action portraits, or athletes want an action portrait, then I use Shutter Priority mode.
