| My husband had surgery a few weeks ago, so we have not been able to have regular sex, but plan in doing IUI in a few days if all goes well with my egg count. today it would have been 7 days since out last intercourse and we thought we should so the sperm would not be too old, but now we only have a few days until we need to do the IUI. should we not have had sex and just waited or are we going to be ok. I thought that sperm could not be too old or it would not work. Please andy help would be appreciated. Also, today I had a lot of blood streaked through my cm, is this a good sign? I have been on injectable drugs for over a week. Thanks alot |

| If sperm count is not an issue, it is best to release the sperms today (preferably by having sex), so in another 2-3 days, there is a new batch of "highly motile" (new) sperms. It isn't the number that matters as much (assuming sperm count isn't an issue) as the motility/morphology of the sperms. We did two IUIs one day after the other after injectables/LH shot. First day 40 million sperm (no sex for 3 days before), high motility (over 50%)Second day 60 million sperm (one day later!), high motility (over 80%)We were a bit surprised to have more motile/quantity sperm the following day (as well as higher count). In addition to the two IUIs, had sex two nights before IUI, again on night of second IUI, and once again a day after the second IUI.Our IUI worked the first time with pregnancy #1.I am assuming you are being daily monitored (follicles sizes, LH and estrogen levels, etc) and will be getting a shot to cause LH spike before the IUI. It is obviously important that you don't ovulate before you've actually had the IUI. The blood through CM could be sign of ovulation, so best to do the baby dance tonight. Just make sure you are not overstimulated (not too many follicles that are approaching maturity).Good luck. |

Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
