| Ok... again keeping with the medieval theme our choices for our wedding feast are the following.. let me start by saying that there will be only approx. 40 guests. We are asking that in lieu of gifts that our guest attend in medieval attire (most of our friends and family are aware of this and are thrilled with it) so getting thier "good" clothes dirty wont be an issue.. and our guests will be seated at long wooden tables..ok.. that being said here are our options:1) One grand buffet table with whole roast ducks, turkeys, pigs, and beef along with bowls of breads, fruit, nuts, root vegetables, cheeses, wild rice, pitchers of wine, beer & juices (clearly marked) etc.or2) Basically the same only with smaller portions distributed onto each individual table Thank you for all of your opinions... we are trying to make this a very memorable, fun day that everyone will remember as truely a reflection of who we are.If we did the grand buffet table there would be someone on hand to carve the meats, if at the tables it would be pre-carved |

| I would say do the whole buffet. It gives more of a laid back feel and lets people socialize with more people than they could if they were sitting at a sit down. However, if you want to be very upscale and classy a sit down dinner would be they way to go. It really depends on the feel you want for your wedding (upscale or laid back). I have always been a fan for buffet dinners cause people can pick and choose whats going on their plate. Hope this helped and Congrats! :0) |

| Truly medieval times did smaller portions on each table...aka family style rather than buffet or sit-down. Keep with your theme but update it a tad and please have silverware and make sure the meats are already carved rather than plunking down entire animals. |

do the one buffet!!!I have to tell you that it's soooo awesome your doing a themed wedding... I wanted to at first...but then i realized it just wouldn't work with what we had to work with. :)Congrats!PS. I want to see pictures when it's all done and over with  |

| Go with the family style buffet, it will probably be easier on your guests (they don't have to wait) and you. |

| As a guest I prefer a meal served family style over a buffet anyday.... though with your style of meal, it could be very impressive on a long buffet table.I just don't like getting up and standing in line to get my meal at a wedding or other formal event. I feel like I'm back in gradeschool waiting in line at the cafeteria. |

| Medieval style dining is full portions on each table and no silverware. You may want to get inspired by medieval style restaurant and activities. No buffet please, it will clash with your theme.I love yur menu too!Good luck |

| I think the first option would fit better with your theme and as long as you have someone to actually do the waiting on people, which you say you have, then it will be loads of fun for everyone.Oh wait, I read your options wrong, I thought #1 would be placed on the center of the table served "family style" and #2 was people given individual servings at their place setting. I would do the option that serves it on the table family style, whichever that would be. |

| FAMILY STYLE ALL THE WAY!I think my wedding is going to have a buffet because of the logistical concerns of having to buy more serviceware, etc, but I LOVE the idea of a feast where people just pass around big jugs of food and plates of meat and stuff. We really wanted to do this and I completely wholeheartedly recommend that you do it if it works with your venue and budget!!! |

| i love the idea of one grand table laden with food!imagine the grandeur of one great table with whole roasted meats, poultry, and bowls of all this wonderful food you have come up with! it would be spectacular and worthy of talk for years to come, not to mention the spectacular photographs you will have.you know, i must admit, i have never been a fan of theme weddings, or of all the hooplah that comes with them, but you have made this all sound so beautiful and charming that i wish i was going to be there! have an absolutely wonderful wedding sweetie! |
