I have some wedding invitations, cards, etc, from my first marriage, and I want to throw them out. For some reason I feel guilty, though.I don't want to think about the marriage, so is there any reason to keep the stuff?

Do you have children from that marriage? If so they may want it. My first marriage lasted 25 yrs. When I remarried and moved into my husbands home my daughter( age 19) said that she wanted the things that I had saved from my first marriage, pictures, newspaper clipping ,napkin and such mementos. The stuff had been packed up for YEARS.So when I was cleaning out my house I gave the stuff to her. My wedding dress got trashed.HA HA HA . If you don't have any children from that marriage I would say to get rid of all the stuff.

You must be very sentimental. I would of tossed them out long ago. Still, people are different. If you want to hang on to them, then do it. Just put them in a shoebox, stash them away and forget about them. Some day you will run across them and be ready to toss them, do it then.

If you have been married once and things didn't work out but you want to hold on to those memories that's your business.People keep things for sentimental reasons if your not interested in marriage at this time than move on and stop second guessing your self.best of luck

What was the fate of yr first marriage. From yr question it seemsthat u have married more than once. Definitely if u are remarried it is no wise to keep the memories of the pasy. It may disturb yr present.

If your first marriage failed, why are you holding back the invitations? Exes are exes for good reasons!I guess you may still be feeling sad about this; but I agree with others- and think that you should consider getting rid of them so you can go on with your life. Sure, we all need time to adjust and to mourn the death of a marriage (and the dreams you once had with this person), but sooner or later you must focus on your present and future. The past is gone and you cannot turn back time.As for feeling guilty---Remember it takes "two to tango". It is seldom just one spouse's fault.Surely your ex had a big part in this fiasco, so ask God to help you overcome this feeling and to heal your heart and memories. Good luck.
