| I've narrowed my search down to these two cameras with a significant (to me) price range. FYI - The camera I buy will be used for Nature & archival Family photos. The SPLURGE camera (a.k.a. the Canon A650 IS) appeals to me because I could potentially take some great high-res candids of my family at a wedding but crop out the drunk guy in the back without making the shot too pixelated. Also, I know it's somewhat of a fluff feature, but I loved the flip-out screen feature on my old Cannon and found myself using it a lot. | Splurge! The A650 IS is high on my wish list too. I have an A620 with the flip screen, and really notice its absence and utility if using a different camera. But back to the A650, really think this camera has the best capability of the point and shoots on the market today.On a side note, nearly all of the Canon A6XX series (with the exception of the A610) have held their value very well, and have all been very highly rated. Check out their going rate and reviews on Amazon or ebay. |

| I would get the good one because it has a larger (1/1.7") sensor. Also, it has a cool "frame movie mode" that records at 60fps. That might be handy if you want to take it with you on a roller coaster. The other one has a regular size sensor (1/2.5"). |
