| i am throwing my sister a 30th birthday party. (she didnt get to have a big wedding or anything like that) so i want to make this very special for her. any thoughts on themes... or food ideas decorations???love love love the 80's theme!!!! |

| 80's theme!!!!! if it's a culture theme like fiesta or luau, have appropriate food (mexican, tropical, etc). two steps here: i can't tell you ideas for decor or food unless i know the theme. find a theme first, then ask about the other stuff. |

| You should have a theme where people dress up...try a theme she'd love..like my one girlfriend is from Texas. She loves cowgirl/cowboy outfits. I am kind of into sci fi. A disco theme or 80s theme would be fun too..or even a celebrity costume party would be amusing. |

| One thing I've always wanted to do but never have...Have all of her friends bring (or email you) a pic with themself and the birthay girl. Cover a wall with a piece of butcher paper with the pics taped/glued to it and have all the guests write her a little note next to their picture saying how much she/their friendship means to them. |

| I think it really depends on your sister! I do love the 80's theme, or a 70's or 60's would be fun too! (think disco or hippie theme) Those are all pretty easy as far as music, clothes, etc. & I've been to one of each of them & they are all a fun idea! Or you could be wild and do a gypsy/Moroccan theme and have lots of colors & bring in a fortune teller, Oh and do henna tattoos (they're temporary!) and stuff. Or glam it up and do a gangsters theme - guys and dolls - that sort of thing..you kinda have to think of the guys with some of these, because we women are way more creative when it comes to costumes and such! lol! She'll love the effort that you make, no matter what! good luck! |
