I had my wedding last year and had a company (an Incorporation) do my video and photography. I had payed them up front. I received my proofs and submitted to have them do my video and albums the summer this year. Today, I have received a letter stating that they just filed for Chapter 7. What do I do? They have everything, my proofs, video, and money. What are my options? I just want my video and pictures. Thank you

You should contact their Bankruptcy Attorney, and let them know. You may not do anything except through their attorney and/or the Bankruptcy Court. If you are listed as a creditor, you may not contact them directly. If you go to the creditor's meeting, you may ask them to re-affirm anything they owe you.Otherwise you need to hire your own Bankruptcy attorney to file motions in the court.

Contact a lawyer immediately. There is no reason for the company to keep you material. But you'll likely need a lawyer to get the material returned. You can try contacting them asking for the material to be returned, but a lawyer may be able to actually move things along and get all your stuff returned to you.Talk to a bankruptsy lawyer first to determine what the company right are as far as the material. He should be able to put you in touch with the type of lawyer you need to go after your stuff.Good luck.
