How much did you spend on your wedding cake? How many tiers was it? I want to get my cake down by a professional cake designer. I want at least a 4 tier cake. Did you use a private wedding cake designer or Publix, etc.?

Mine was free with the cater but we wanted the mad hatter cake so it was $50.00 more because that was a little more special. The size of your cake depends on how many people you are feeding... unless you don't mind paying extra. Talk to your cater first- may people are offering a free cake in the package. I actually didn't talk to a cater who didn't offer it.Mine was 4 tiers for 115 people.... and you save the top part. I was made in a bakery- I have no clue what a "cake" designer is- we just call them bakeries! She was very good and copy and cake I saw from Vegas and make it in our colors. I think without a cater- the cake was $350.00

We went with a local bakery that specializes in cakes. The bakery has a good reputation and good prices as well! Our cake was $300, it has four tiers, serves 120 people and that price included all of the coloring and decorating we wanted on the cake as well.

We are using The Cake Atelier which is a small cake designer in Manhattan. So you have to realize because of location its going to be a little more then other places. Also we have a custom flavor, and a little more elaborate design. Its 5 tiers (about 3.5 ft tall), covered in fondant, and gum paste flowers. It is running 3,900, plus tax & delivery and cake cutting fee is elminated because our hotel is doing it.It feeds a little over 200 people.

You can see a pic of mine in my avatar but it's not that clear. Our wedding was informal and very small, 45 guests in all. We decided to have a tower of cupcakes as it was the easiest option for us at short notice, our original baker dumped our wedding a month before so we had a last minute rush to get another and had to take what we could, it worked out perfectly for us in the end, it was a 7inch cutting cake on top and 3 layers of cupcakes underneath. It was from a local bakery called Lola's, here is their website (although they are EXTREMELY RUDE!!!)http://www.lolas-kitchen.co.uk/lolas_specials.html

My cake is going to be a four-tiered stacked round cake that feeds 200 people. I used a private cake designer in the area who is an artist but specializes in wedding cakes. Make sure you work with someone who does this privately because they will take more time with you. Ask them to help you sketch out an idea and let you taste their cakes etc..my cake is $450 with a groomscake too

I went with my Best Friend's Dad. He is the BEST pastry chief I have ever seen. Our was 4 tiers and we paid $6 per person for it. Which it ended up being almost $1,000 so it was definitely ALOT, but it meant the world to us that we could bless him. Not mentioning, that he had just opened up his shop and they needed the money. Which is the reason we paid him so much. He was willing to give us a great deal, but we declined. So since we did, he ended up making us tuxedo strawberries, which I LOVE!!!!!! Anyways, Good Luck in finding the cake of your dreams!!! =)

I am having a 4 tier cake for 165 ppl....at $1.60 a slice which equals to $264. My cake will be done by a private baker and this cake is identical to the one I wanted from a popular baker for $412!This woman is a retired professional baker....she does them out of her house for a fraction of the price....I received her information from the owner of the banquet hall that I am holding my reception at.

I'm having a 4 tier cake made to serve 150. The price was included in the cost of our reception so I'm not sure exactly how much it costs. I've seen similar cakes where I live that are about $600.

Mine was 3 tiers with pink, white and yellow flowers all down it with a fountain under it on a mirror with blue gel to look like a lake and glass swans with frosting and flowers swimming under the cake. we had a small sheet cake in the back if we needed more... Mine was $130.00 for 90 ppl but that was 17 yrs ago. Any more grocery and walmart make great cakes, they hire profecinal cake decorators to work for them. If you go to them with a picture of what you want it like they can make it for you.
