You must have your closest friends and family. People you love to see you two tying the knot. The things will fast be forgotten.

My must have is the music is shapes the whole day as far as Im concerned!!!If its in the church or regestry office its so important to have the right music and singer. Songs can tell a story and really set the mood.

Must have: tons of food, good photographer, comfortable dress, nice suit, beautiful cake, nice favors, venue with rooms available for out guests, valet parking for our guests, enough space for our friends and family in the venueSacrifice (if we had to): shoes, videographer *actually we absolutely despise the idea and are not having one* , we could get a DJ instead of the band, lower grade linens, no personalized cocktail napkins/coasters

The top shelf booze is a good thing. I would prefer a great band to a great DJ. With a dancing family, you need a sizable dance floor. I have also enjoyed nice outdoor areas to get away from the wedding without leaving it. Obviously as the bride you won't be able to get away, but some of your guests may want to take a break or a quiet place to talk without really leaving the wedding.

The man, the rings, flowers, photographer, cake, a hall where I do not have to do absolutely everything. I do not want to self cater, it's just too much work & I want them to clean up & set up - unless you hire help. I do not need a DJ - I can do that with my computer & I-tunes. I don't care about favors & lots of decorations could be skipped too.

Awesome food, full open bar, great music -- yes, and as you say, lots of time for dancing. We were in the ballroom from cocktails at 5 p.m., dinner at 6, then dancing til around 1 (we didn't stay til the end!).

The actual wedding is where we didn't skimp on it. Try to find a hall that decorates it for free, mine did. It turned out gorgeous.Skimp on:Photographer:A ton of people will be taking pictures. I had a professional one at mine and a lot of my relatives took pictures as well, and some of the relatives ones are better than the professionals. Cake:Nobody really eats it at weddings, they just eat it because it's there. Have a Desert Tray instead. Cookies, Brownies, Cheesecake bites, just a variety.Flowers: You can get fake ones and nobody will know the difference.

My absolutes are pretty much a combo of yours and your fiances.I wanted hard liquour or no liquor because I cannot drink beer or wine (I'm allergic). So, we went for full open bar.DJ, Good Food, Clean Venue, Photographer. Our #1 was space to invite all the family/friends we want to have at our wedding. We looked at cuter venues than where we ended up, but they couldn't accomodate all the people. We are figuring 150 to 175 people will show up.I've been hunting sales so our invites and favors are inexpensive.I bought my dress through eBay.We are using my fiance's classic car rather than renting a limo ( a cousin has offered to 'chauffer' us )Flowers will be at a minimum, and I'm seriously contemplating buying fakes. We are not decorating the church. The centerpieces won't be floral and I am DIY'ing them.As for the cake, I like cake. At many weddings it is what I look forward to. But I'm very fussy so I hate it when the place ruins a perfectly good piece of cake by pouring sauces on top of it - - ICK! I told my venue not to put sauce on my cake for me or my guests, or I won't book them.

Where and How to Start?
There’s so much to do, it can be mind-numbing. Don’t worry. I planned and held my first wedding in two months and my second wedding in three months. If you have the luxury of a year or more, feel lucky!
Wedding Invitation
Ideally, invitations should be mailed out 6-8 weeks before the big day to give guests time to make arrangements to attend and RSVP back to you.
Wedding Attire
Where I come from, buying a tuxedo is virtually unheard of. Renting is probably the way to go to realize the ultimate savings on the groom’s attire.
Wedding Flowers
Cheap doesn't mean that your wedding flowers can't be beautiful. All flowers are lovely no matter what they cost.
Wedding Ceremony Decoration
Most wedding ceremonies are short and sweet, so why spend a majority...
Wedding Music
Music for your wedding ceremony could consist of live or recorded performances.
Wedding Photography
Pictures are priceless, and you want to be sure you have plenty of good pictures of your special day.
Wedding Favors
Some brides don’t like the idea of giving gifts to her guests, but we think it’s a nice gesture as a thank you...
Wedding Food
Wedding food can take a huge chunk out of your wedding budget.
Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake is the centerpiece of the reception. It is a scrumptious dessert as well as part of a tradition
Wedding Party
The question of whether or not to serve alcohol at your wedding is one that can cause dissension in the ranks of family.
