| my wedding is a few months away and im worried that i will get a zit right on my wedding morning! or the day before!is it true you can make last min appts with a derm. and get a shot in it??i normally have really good skin and HATE foundation!! so i dont wan2 be caking any crap on my face!! |

| Personally, I'd probably just pop it. I know that's really bad in the long term, but after you let it heal for a few minutes, apply a light, skin friendly coverup over top. |

| don't touch your face, always wash your face with soap & hot water. also, right before you sleep.. but toothpaste on the pimple. it dries it out. & drink plenty of water. |

| chocolate and sugar causes breakouts so don't eat a lot of sugar!! Pro-active works like crap!! Put toothpaste on it. Oil causes pimples!! Keep your face and neck clean!! |

| well, start with prevention.make sure you're drinking lots of water and eating loads of healthy things like fruit and vegetables, you might want to take a multi-vitamin so your skin is in good condition from the inside out. Try get a facial 2 weeks BEFORE your wedding (I work at a spa and recommend 2 weeks because it gives your skin time to heal after the facial and look its best on the day), it's a great way to pamper yourself, have skin in top condition, and relieve stress because stress is a huge contributer to breakouts. Exfoliate your skin twice a week between now and the wedding, or with a glycolic scrub once a week, so dead skin cells are not sitting on top of your skin and your skin can recharge.All in all, try to practice stress management in your life, because when it comes to blemishes we can be our own worst enemy... worrying about them can cause them!And yes, you'll be happy to hear dermos do have shots for getting rid of blemishes before an event. It's a shot of cortizone but it will take about 24 hours for the blemish to fully disappear, it costs under $100 and a derm might take you in an emergency, but it's best to contact them in advance and ask them their policy on last-minute appointments for cortizone shots. You could even go ahead and book an appointment for the day before your wedding or the morning of (if its an evening wedding), for peace of mind, so that way if there's no zits you can cancel the appointment, but if you DO have a blemish, you'll have a plan in place. |

| We all know that we can "feel" a pimple coming on, so as soon as you feel it, apply a small dab of toothpaste to it. Don't use a gel toothpaste, it will never dry. Instead, use a white paste, (Colgate Total works well,) and put a small dab on the pimple. I understand that this sounds utterly insane, but it does work. Next time you get a pimple, try this. It's an old trick I learned from my friend's mother, and everyone I've told now swears by it. P.S. Don't forget to rinse it off in the morning =o)And yes, you can go to a dermatologist and they can inject cortisone into it, which causes it to disappear. However, if it's not a large pimple, this is kinda pointless. The irritation you'll experience from the injection itself as well as potential cortisone side effects aren't worth it. Additionally, getting appointments with dermatologists is extremely difficult, as they usually have a month-long waiting list. |
