None have been bad. My friend did pens, who doesn't use a pen?!My other friend had little candles and match books, now i didn't use them but I took them and put them away because im the kind of person who likes to hold onto things like that.We are thinking about using candy bars. Not quite sure yet, have not totally decided...but I don't care what the favor is at another wedding as long as I have a momento to take home with me.

I think the reason your question offends so many people is because of how it was worded. A. some people like the examples you used as tacky, and some have probably even used those favours.B. wedding favors are usally an afterthought for an alreadt overwhelmed bride, and are most likley used to double as table decor, or place cards. C. anytime you make apublic annoucement that a gift you were given is cheap or trashy, people are going to take offense. Now just to be clear, i don't feel that way. Actually I wanted my favors to be clothespins with starfish glued to them, with the guests name, and a magnet on the back so they could put it on their fridge. And the other favor would be a bottle with the wedding program in it(you know like message in a bottle) on each table. My issue is after reading your question, I am scared of what people will think...And I'm a wedding planner.

The worst one I got was a cheap, terrible little metal bell. The couple should have just saved their money, because everyone threw the bells in the trash at the reception. One of the cooler favors I received was a bag of trail mix that the couple made and tied with ribbon. It said Happy Trails from the couple, and after a long night of drinking and dancing, everyone was thrilled by the little snack. It was a creative and inexpensive favor and a real crowd-pleaser.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouthMeaning...Don't be ungrateful when you receive a gift.I cannot say that I spend much time judging what people give ME at THEIR wedding. Honestly, I graciously accept any gift and if I don't have use for it, I give it to someone who does. Don't worry, there were people at your wedding that didn't like your favors as well. You cannot please everyone.
