| I have been dating my boyfriend for a while, and we have survived allot together more recently a shooting at Northern Illinois University. We have lived together for a year now and I want to buy him a promise ring. I am not saying I'm proposing by any means but I feel that as a token of my love I am going to go outside of my usual gifts and gestures, and buy him a keepsake that he will always have.I have never bought a ring for a man before so I really have no idea what to buy him. We are both in college still with at least a year and a half to go and I want something to show him that all-though I am not ready to marry him I am ready to commit to him. He jokingly asks me to marry him all the time and says I better be the one to propose, so I know it wont bother him to receive this gift. Like I said we are young, so I don't really want the ring to resemble a stuffy wedding band, and I don't want him to get crap for wearing it. I am looking to spend under $150. Any suggestions? |

| When I did this, I knew the guy's favorite gem stone (sapphire) and searched for a ring with it. I ended up finding one around $70 and he really liked it. The sapphires weren't anything huge obviously, and they were in a silver band. It was quite a search though, so good luck, I hope you find something that works well for you. |
