I have been researching wedding planners and have found one potential wedding planner who has been very responsive and with reasonable prices. She has provided me with a list of 3 references for wedding parties she has planned in the past. My question is: What questions should I ask these references?

Ask them:Overall, what was your opinion on this person? Was this person friendly, reasonable, accomadating? Did they listen to your wants/desires? Did they offer suggestions in a positive manner (as in not shooting down your ideas/beliefs)?What did you least like about their personality and their overall work performance? What is something they did for you, that you feel you wouldn't have been able to do on your own w/o a planner? Can I see pictures of the planners work? Was this person respectful? Was this person available when needed? Easy to contact? Did they responsed in a timely manner? Was your wedding above and beyond your expectations when working with this planner? Why or Why not?Did this planner open doors in terms of exposing you to vendors or services you might not have known about? Did the planner save you money, through discounts with preferred vendors? Was this planner worth the money? Why or Why not?

How she handled herself, did she get stressed or was she calm? How did she treat the wedding party! If there was one thing they wished the planner would have done or not done what would it be!Was she attentive to their needs and easy to work with! Was she easy to get hold of!Rank her from 1 - 10, 10 being went beyond the call of duty!Hope this helps!Congrats on your engagement!

I'm a wedding planner part time...and I always encourage my clients to come out and personally see me work at a wedding. Of course, I always ask the bride & groom if a potential client can come and sit in during the ceremony. Otherwise when being interviewed by potential clients; I'm asked alot about trouble shooting. For example; What if persistent relatives are adamant about seating in reserve section that is reserved for grandparents & parents of the bride or groom or what would you do if: one of the guest gets really, really drunk & out of control at the reception. It may sounds lame to some; but these are the alot of concerns most brides have. If you can fix it and how...
