$200-400 covers a wide range of cameras.Depending on what you plan to use it on and what you look for in a camera, the recommendation varies.Personally, I enjoy using manual controls, and the only company that offers full manual controls in a P&S camera is Canon.In the low range I would get the SX100 IS, the high range is the S5 IS and A650 IS.To be honest, though, if you're just looking for a good digicam for general purpose shooting, you can't go wrong with most reputable manufacturers (part Nikon and Canon)
