I would like suggestions on what are the best settings for my camera (as above) for doing sport photography especially football photography in the daytime from the sideline of the field. My zoom lens is 75-300mm 1:4-5.6Please help with what ever you can?

Use a shutter speed of at least 1/500th second.I am surprised that you have such a fine, adjustable camera and haven't figured this basic kind of thing out ... That tells me you need to take a class in photography so you do not get too frustrated using a camera like this. The camera is only a tool ... if you have to spend any time thinking about the settings, you are going to miss a lot of shots. The goal is to learn all you can by going to school, using the camera as much as possible in as many different lighting conditions as possible. If you have noticed, the pros on the sidelines are shooting, not checking there camera settings.

Keep it on "burst" mode. Take multiple pics. Use a 2GB card to fit all the pics. make sure you have an extra card.If its a sunny day, pick an aperture in "A": mode and crank that shutter speed up.If its a cloudy day, I suggest ISO 400 for all the shots. The Rat
