We are getting married at 2 pm in a hotel and we have the reception room and DJ until 7pm. Because its a small wedding of only 35 guests, approximately 16 of them will also be getting rooms that night at the hotel. We arent leaving for our honeymoon until Monday (wedding is on a Saturday) so we thought that it would be nice to hang out with our guests at the hotel lounge (nice lounge w/fireplace music etc.) Should I get a shorter length "party" dress in the color of my wedding gown (champagne) to hang out in or should I just dress in my regular clothes?

Unless your wedding dress becomes uncomfortable I would wear it all night! You only get to wear it once!

Totally up to you. Jeans or sweats would be fine, or a cute and casual dress/skirt.

I'd wear your wedding dress if it isn't too big/heavy. Most brides really focus on that dress, so wear it as long as you can, since you probably love it.You could buy a 2nd dress if you have the extra $$. It could be short or long, but I'd make it comfy. And it could be white, or you could do something really fun like your favorite color, or red (the Chinese color of good fortune).Or, if you ant to make it a casual affair, stick to a cure outfit...dressy jeans (or dress pants) and a sparkly top maybe. Once again, white or ivory not required...it's up to you. Be creative and have fun with it!Have a great wedding!

If it were me, I'd throw on a pair of sweats, and tee shirt, and slippers. Nothing like vegging out in front of a fire in super comfy clothes! That would also be a cue for my guests to get comfortable and just relax. But if that's not you, then go for something more 'dressy' Just wear what ever you are comfortable in!

I would go with the wedding gown (since you really only get to wear it for one day) unless it's too bulky and will bother you any. Think about it this way... Everyone will know it's your wedding day and be nice to you. Otherwise I would go with the shorter dress.. But don't go in jeans or anything like that. It's still part of your big day after all even if the party you footed is over it is still your day

get a shorter party dress in the same color as your gown. there are some gowns that are made w/the train detachable, so if you wanted to wear your wedding dress as a party dress you could simply detach the train (just an idea)

Wear something nice and classy afterwards, if your dress becomes too heavy to navigate all over the place after the wedding.

Well, either is fine...but you said about 1/2 your guests are getting rooms at the hotel. You might want to consider whether or not the other guests will stick around and whether they will be changing clothes or not. If they're all still going to be dressed, you might go with the "party" dress. But if most of your guests are going to change you might want to go with regular clothes so as to not make them feel over dressed!

This may sound a little hokey, but consider wearing something casual/comfortable preferably with some of you wedding colors and wear your veil (providing it isn't real long). This way you are still the center of attention...this is your day.
