My fiance and I dont have alot of funds but we would like to have a small wedding/reception that is memorable. We can afford something reasonable but nothing extravagant as we would like to put money towards a honeymoon package as well. Are there small non-denom churches, chapels, hotels (maybe with a terrace garden) or local parks that will let you get married there? If I can't have them in the same place, I would like to take my reception to a hotel or banquet center. I expect to have approx 75-100 guests. We are also willing to go outside st charles county but not to st louis city. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

I live in st charles and we are getting married at the conservatory. www.gardenwedding.com Its kind of expensive though. Our reception will be at All Occasion Banquet Center near dirt cheap off hwy 70 at cave springs exit. Its 20 per person, they include linen, china, buffet, silver, 5 hr rental, etc. For everything it includes it really is the best price I could find for a banquet hall. You could also look at the civic park pavillion near the recplex and there's a banquet hall right over by there...blanchette park has a garden and indoor banquet facilities but you have to get your own caterer. Quail Ridge park in the ofallon area has a huge gorgeous lodge and you can have your reception there too. Go to st charles county parks dept web page for more info. You can call and check on dates. I work at Emmaus Homes in st charles and they have a chapel that is occasionally used for weddings of people that work there. Im not sure if they rent them out to the public but you can call. Its a very small chapel and the pastor there is really nice. Any parks that have pavillions will let you rent them our for your wedding. They are usually pretty affordable also. Good luck, honey! Congrats on your wedding!!

My stepson got married in Alton last June. They had their reception at the Lewis and Clark Community College. It might be a little to big for what you're looking for, though. They booked it because they invited over 300 guests. Less than half of that number attended, but it was a fun wedding, and lots of nice ponds and fountains for pictures. They had their rehearsal dinner at the Moonlight Restaurant on the East side of town. I pasted the link to their page that has banquet info, and it says they can accommodate up to 100 for a private party. According to mapquest, it's about 45 minutes from downtown St. Charles. I know you said you're in St. Charles County, but you didn't say where, so it could be a lot farther, or a lot closer.
