David's Bridal is the best place to find inexpensive gowns. They also have $99 sales. Check out their website.www.davidsbridal.com

In a word, No. Not unless it was from a major dept store. The only exception would be if you had a lot of time before the wedding to make the necessary alterations or find a new one if needed.Take care and congrats!

I bought my dress online, custom made, on ebay to be exact. I never thought I would do such a thing and was totally anti buying dress online (especially ebay) before I did it. But I realized a few months before my wedding that I was not happy with my dress after all and I needed another affordable option quick!I still get amazing compliments on my dress a year later when people see pics! Everybody thinks I paid $$$$ for my dress and it totally makes me giggle because I only paid around $200 for a custom made dress that looked pretty much like the $1000 ones I tried on.I used ebridalstore on ebay.

another option for you is just a white dress...it doesn't have to be a bridal gown. You could even order a bridesmaid dress, alot of them are offered in white and/or champagne

Having read your previous posts and noted that you are having a very casual wedding why don't you check out the evening dresses in department stores? I have a beautiful gold full length evening dress that I bought for a Ball from Kaliko. Something like that might be more appropriate than a formal bridal gown.

LOL...you can marry in whatever you want to get married in!!! On your wedding day it goes just like you want it to! lol But if you want buy online, i think thats a good idea. Go to a shop and try on similar dresses just make you sure you order the correct size. If you go in a shop with your mind made up that you're not going to buy any dresses from there - you'll make it out of there.lol A very elegant white pants suit sounds cute and original to me!

Budget? What are you talking about? This is your WEDDING GIRL!! You only have one wedding with this guy and you should spoil yourself with the dress you will fall in love with. So my suggestion is that you should go to a store yourself. Maybe the one online won't fit you. At least when you are in the store, you can see which one fits and which one needs to go.

Yep, I bought my dress online, saved like $950 in the process and got the dress that I wanted.

Have you considered a consignment shop or [gasp] a used clothing store? I've seen some good buys in formals at places like Goodwill and Salvation Army, but in larger cities you can often find upscale resale shops.I mean, plunking down that kind of cash for a one-day dress seems a little extravagant to me.

Go to some shops and try dresses on to get an idea of what shape/style suits you. Ask if the shop has a sale at the end of the season. Our local small, privately owned shops tend to have a sale around October time, and I got my dress for half the retail price. It was an ex-display dress, but the shop had it freshly dry-cleaned so it was in perfect condition.I would also check out ebay and other online stores, but only once you know what styles you like. I was surprised that the dresses I thought I liked didn't actually suit me, and my dress was far more frilly than I thought I'd ever choose. Second hand on ebay is another option, my sister-in-law sold hers for about £40 so someone had a bargain there.
